Dakao Sandwiches is a Vietnamese restaurant at 5700 Spring Mountain Rd in Las Vegas, Nevada, serving banh mi and Vietnamese specialties every day from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is a practical stop for breakfast, lunch, or a quick bite, with food made fresh on site daily or prepared to order, according to customer feedback. With 288 reviews and a 4.1-star rating, the shop has earned attention from locals looking for Vietnamese flavors in Las Vegas.
Banh mi is a central reason customers visit. One detail reviewers especially value is the bread: a light baguette with a crisp crust and soft interior, the kind of balance that lets the sandwich fillings shine. Customers also mention that banh mi can be served quickly, making it a convenient choice when you want a satisfying meal without a long visit. Because food may sell out, arriving earlier in the day can be a good idea, particularly if you have a specific item in mind.
For something less commonly found around town, regulars recommend Nem Heo, described by one customer as a spicy garlic dish made with raw or uncooked ingredients and appreciated for its distinctive taste. It is a notable option for diners curious to explore beyond a familiar sandwich, though its raw preparation may not suit everyone. Some visitors pair it with banh mi, turning a quick sandwich stop into a chance to sample more than one Vietnamese specialty.
The setting is described by a reviewer as having the kind of atmosphere that puts the focus on the food. The owners are also praised as friendly and welcoming, including toward guests who do not speak Vietnamese; customers say they can point to the items they want in the display. That straightforward ordering experience may be helpful for first-time visitors and anyone unfamiliar with the menu. Service is often described as fast, although one reviewer reported a wait of nearly 30 minutes when a customer ahead placed a large order, so timing can vary during busy periods.
Dakao Sandwiches is a good fit for Las Vegas residents and visitors seeking banh mi, a distinctive Nem Heo specialty, or a casual place to pick up Vietnamese food during the day. Find it at 5700 Spring Mountain Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89146. The shop is open Monday through Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If you are visiting for a particular dish, consider coming early: customer reports suggest popular items may go quickly. Whether you are stopping in for a crisp-bread sandwich or exploring a less familiar dish, the experience is centered on approachable service and freshly prepared food.

We come here mainly just for the Nem Heo which is a spicy garlic dish that we have yet to find anywhere else in Las Vegas. It’s a raw or uncooked dish that has a great unique taste. Since we’re here we also just get Banh Mis too which are also great because they serve them pretty fast. This place can get a little busy but ordering should be fairly simple. This is a really small place where you generally can grab your food and go. But if you are looking to eat there’s only 2 tables with about 3-4 chairs each.
My gauge for a quality bahn mi always starts with the bread. It needs to be a light baguette with a crisp crust and soft inside. If the bread is off, the rest of the sandwich doesn’t matter. This place is worth the visit!
They open at 8am. They make their food daily freshly on site or made to order. You better come early because their stuff is gone quickly. The owners are very nice even you don’t know a word of Vietnamese, just simply point at the items you want from the display, mission complete! They have the best baguettes in town with buy 5 get 1 free promotion. The veggie one and the hose special (combination) are my must orders. Their Vietnamese ham roll is perfect for sandwiches, stir fry or in noodle soup. They also have very authentic desserts and pastries. The strong and sweet condense milk Vietnamese coffee is pleasant to have. You can’t miss their dry flat fat rice noodle box, which is the best. If you want to dine in (only 2 tables), they offer to heat up the food (soup) for you.
had to wait almost 30 minutes for a banh mi, which honestly has never happened to me before. I understood the customer before me had a large order, but after I already placed my order, that customer added even more items. Instead of making …
Excellent. Google includes atmosphere as a criteria. This is the atmosphere you want as it almost always guarantees better food.
