Danny's Auto Repair LLC is an auto repair shop at 7631 NE Sandy Blvd in Portland, OR 97213. For local drivers looking for a place to discuss a car problem, get an assessment, or arrange repair, the shop is a neighborhood option on NE Sandy Boulevard. Customer feedback reflects different experiences, alongside an overall rating of 4.5 stars from 109 reviews. That mix makes it useful to read recent feedback and talk through your vehicle's symptoms and repair options directly with the shop before deciding how to proceed.
Reviews mention Danny and Fred, vehicle assessments, and repair work, including a customer's account involving a scraping metal sound and a wheel bearing. These examples offer a sense of the kinds of concerns customers have brought in, but they do not establish a complete service list. If you are unsure what is causing a noise or other issue, calling ahead to explain what you have noticed can help you understand the next step. Customers describe a range of interactions, so clear questions about the proposed work, parts, and estimated cost can help set expectations.
The feedback is notably mixed: some reviewers praise the team's automotive knowledge, honesty, reasonable charges, and willingness to help in a rushed situation, while another describes a concern about an assessment and a more expensive OEM wheel bearing. Rather than treating any one review as the whole story, prospective customers can use these accounts as a starting point for a direct conversation. Ask what the assessment includes, which repair is being recommended, and whether there are alternatives. A careful discussion can help you decide whether the suggested work fits your vehicle's needs and your budget.
Danny's Auto Repair LLC is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and closed Saturday and Sunday. Its Portland location may suit drivers seeking weekday auto repair and a chance to speak with a shop about a particular vehicle concern. If you need a quick appointment or have a time-sensitive situation, call to confirm availability and explain your schedule; one customer specifically appreciated help with a rushed repair. Whether you are new to arranging car service or comparing a recommendation with a dealership quote, bring your questions and ask for the reasoning behind the proposed repair. That practical approach can make it easier to evaluate your options at this NE Sandy Boulevard shop.

The amount of times Fred and Danny saved my family thousands of dollars off what some dealership quoted me is alarming at best. They are honest people and know auto repair and that translates into saving you money and having safe cars for your family. No need to look anywhere else. Unless you like getting scammed by a dealership. Since 2011theres noone I trust more with all my vehicles.
Called to see if I could get my car in to figure out what was wrong with it (my first time having to get my car repaired so I needed a little extra guidance) and instead of helping me with the process of figuring out what’s going on and …
I normally don't do reviews, but after having an assessment done on my car for a scraping metal sound by Danny, he definitely tries to take advantage of people. A couple of weeks prior he talked me into the more expensive OEM wheel bearing for my car, and about three weeks later I started hearing a scraping metal sound coming from the front near the tires. I took it to him thinking it had something to do with the wheel bearing, and after his mechanic took the wheel off he came in with "some bad news"- my brake pads were at about 5% and the wear bar was scraping the rotor, causing the metal sound. He could change the rotors and pads for about $300 he said, but since I've done this in the past on other cars, I did it myself. When I took the pads off, surprise, they were not at 5%, more like 40% (Danny told me I had about 1-2 weeks before it was going to be metal on metal) and the rotors were actually in good shape (I was also skeptical of the rotor replacement as there was no shimmying when I braked at high speeds.) Needless to say, since I already had the wheels and calipers off, I replaced the brake pads and the rotor just in case that was the reason for the scraping sound. After a quick test drive, the scraping sound was still there. So Danny was going to charge me for pads and rotors I didn't need, and it still wouldn't have fixed the problem. And after reading the other one-star reviewers post, I doubt Danny would have done anything about it. Those of you who love Danny and give him great reviews, I would maybe go get a second opinion somewhere else just to see if he really is the amazing, honest mechanic you think he is.
In these days of cheating and lack of trust - Danny tells it like it is and will not overcharge. If you’re looking for an honest mechanic - call Danny!
Did a wonderful job on the car, was very understanding with my rush situation, charged reasonable amount. 100% would recommend
