The Ding Tea in Kirkland is paired up with 36 Streets for specialty coffee and waffles. I have visited twice now. Service is friendly taking my order (first time) but also can be distracted-hectic (second time). The interior is basic. I didn’t stay. Both visits were to-go. Be aware that parts of this Juanita area, including the streets, are part of the development and is NOT regular city-parking. They are notorious for ferocious private parking meter-readers (not part of the city). Be sure to read the sign before leaving the vehicle. The Drinks and Food: Chocolate Oolong Milk Tea, $6.75(L) – 3.5 Stars The cashier said this is their most popular drinks. It still tasted quite sweet at 30% sweetness. Hubby said it tastes more like a chocolate milk. Ding it, he’s right. (See what I did there.) Egg Coffee, $6.25 – 4 Stars Egg coffee is a northern Vietnamese specialty. Being in a paper cup takes away some of the charm, but such as is the U.S. lifestyle. It tasted as expected, a stronger, more roasted Viet coffee flavor. Mango Ice Tea, $6.75 – 3.5 Stars This is more of a mango drink with some tea taste – very fruity tea. Pandan Bubble Waffle, $7 – 4 Stars I came the second time mostly for this waffle. Served with whip cream and toasted coconut flake, the cashier looked at me like I grew an extra eye when I said whip cream only, no coconut. She literally didn’t know how to respond to me. I am guessing they pre-pack the cream with the coconut already in it, and she didn’t have time to pack another one. She handed us the bag with what we didn’t want and left. I should lower the rating more, but I do like this waffle.
a cute small shop with good customer service. drinks are good overall. The boba was a little too soft for me, but still okay. I tried the guava tea, it tasted good but didn’t really have a strong guava flavor. The coffee was sweet and creamy, which I liked.
I got a green tea with crystal boba, the worker did not ask about ice or sugar levels (and I didn't bother to ask because usually its not sweetened) and it turns out that the drink was actually quite sweet which is not what I wanted. It was …
36 Streets Vietnamese Coffee is a charming new spot in the Kirkland area, conveniently located near Juanita Beach Park. They open early at 8 AM, perfect for grabbing a morning coffee and breakfast. Parking can be a bit limited right in front of the store, but there are free parking lots nearby where you can usually find a spot. The shop is small, with only a few tables and chairs inside and out, so it’s more of a grab-and-go kind of place. However, if you do choose to stay, the cozy Vietnamese-inspired decor creates a pleasant atmosphere. For those who understand Vietnamese, they even have a selection of comics to read while you enjoy your coffee. The menu is simple, focusing on traditional Vietnamese coffee and breakfast items. The staff is friendly and helpful, offering recommendations if you’re new to Vietnamese cuisine. We tried a variety of their offerings, including the egg coffee, salt coffee, hot condensed milk coffee, Vietnamese sandwich, and bubble waffle. A word of caution—the coffee here is quite strong, much stronger than typical American coffee. Just half a cup had my heart racing, which isn’t something I’ve experienced even with coffee in Vietnam. The flavor is rich and authentic, so if you enjoy a strong brew, you’ll likely appreciate it. The Vietnamese sandwich is a solid breakfast choice, filling and well-paired with the coffee. Just be aware that it comes with jalapeños by default, so ask them to leave it out if you’re not a fan. The bubble waffle is decent, on par with other places, and they also offer some boba options that I plan to try next time. Overall, it’s exciting to have a Vietnamese breakfast spot in Kirkland, adding a unique and flavorful option to the local scene. If you’re in the area and looking for a strong coffee and a satisfying breakfast, 36 Streets is definitely worth a visit.
Use to be one of the best boba spots around and now it’s a complete disappointment. I went in for a large ding tea and it ended up being very diluted and tasted like water. When I expressed my concerns to the cashier she said they can only …
