Fanah Cafe & Pastry

Had a very nice experience at Fanah Cafe this morning. Everything we had was delicious, and the vegan caramel latte was perfectly balanced. The owner, Esayas, is a gracious host, and you can really tell he takes immense pride in making everything from scratch right there in the kitchen. They have a great variety for everyone, whether you're looking for vegan or non-vegan. Richardson is lucky to have a place with this much character. Looking forward to returning to try the pastries and to learn more about Esayas’s story!

Outstanding food, warm and easygoing atmosphere, affordable, and a most dedicated and knowledgeable owner. Discovered this place by chance on a cold afternoon with my family in Richardson. Came back a week later with a small group to celebrate my birthday. No one else had been to this café before, and everyone was highly impressed and enjoyed the experience. Ethiopian food and coffee are delicious and made in-house. Pastries rock, best tiramisu and baklava around. Coffee originated in Ethiopia, and here you can savor it as well as anywhere else. The owner, Isaias, has done it all, from laying the floors to baking the pastries daily. He has plenty of stories to share, including his knowledge of Latin America, where he spent a great deal of time in some of the most challenging places to visit. PS: You can eat with silverware or in traditional Ethiopian style by picking up bites of food with pieces of injera (spongy bread).

Hands down, the best new cafe in the city. The vibe is perfect, but the story is even better. The owner, Esayas, is a LEGEND. He dreamed of this place for 15+ years and trained in EUROPE to bake for us. That’s next-level commitment! And you can TASTE it. The pastries are insane—like, “should-I-eat-this-slowly-or-devour-it” good. The coffee is top-tier. The whole place just feels special and welcoming. A major bonus: they also do incredible breakfasts and have a weekend buffet! It's the perfect spot for a lazy Saturday or Sunday feast. This spot is going to blow up. Get in now before the secret’s out! I’m already planning my next visit. 10/10, 100 stars, just GO.

What a hidden gem! I stopped by this coffee shop over the weekend, and it quickly became one of my favorite experiences. I enjoyed their coffee cake with a cappuccino, and the combination was absolutely perfect. The coffee cake was unlike any I’ve had before…fresh, flavorful, and incredibly delicious. What truly made this visit memorable was the owner. He personally came to our table, introduced himself, asked for our honest feedback, and shared the inspiring story of how he turned his passion for baking into a business. That kind of humility, genuine care, and dedication to both the craft and the customer is something you don’t see every day. It’s clear this isn’t just a coffee shop…it’s a place built with passion and purpose. If you’re looking for amazing coffee, unique pastries, and exceptional hospitality, do yourself a favor and check them out. You’ll leave with a full stomach and an even fuller appreciation for what a locally owned business can be. I can’t wait to come back!

This legit has become my new favorite spot. The owner is a really awesome guy and really looks after his customers. The coffee & pastry here is amazing. You can tell the cakes are made with love. Lastly, the prices are more than fair. Everywhere else you go you have to pay ridiculous amount just for cup coffee.
