Had lunch with co-workers, went right when opened, so we had no wait for a table. This place offers a sushi burger, never seen it before anywhere else and it was amazing! Definitely recommend. Will come back to try the pho
One of the best sushi experiences I’ve had in a long time. The sushi was fresh and legit—no shortcuts. Even the California roll had real crab, no fake stuff, no BS. Everything tasted clean and well-made. The service really stood out too. Our server, Jeramy, was fast, genuinely happy, and super friendly—made the whole experience better without being over the top. Prices were reasonable for the quality. Definitely a spot I’d come back to.
I don’t know why I didn’t leave a review sooner! We’ve been a regular here at Flamin’ Pho & Sushi Bar three years ago while we were living in downtown, and we haven’t had a chance to go back until today, but we are so glad we did. We saw Sabrina, who’s been a familiar face when we used to come here on a weekly basis, and it was always a good sign that shows how much the business cares about their staff! She welcomed us graciously and when I gave her pictures of our previous go-to orders (I had forgotten their names), she stated them right away in the blink of an eye. We ordered the Salmon Sunrise Roll, Cherry Blossom Roll, Saigon Spicy Chicken, and we were immediately taken back to nostalgic times because the quality remained impeccable and delicious! We moved to Kearny Mesa where there is an endless array of Japanese and Asian restaurants and have tried them all, but we kept craving Flamin’ Pho, and we were so satisfied with our meal. I’m very glad we came back and everything was perfect as we remembered it. Our server Hayley helped us out at the end, and she was such a friendly and bubbly waitress that I felt like we have known each other for a longer time! We chatted about the many legitimate Japanese treats at the front of the restaurant for sale and her time in Japan, and I couldn’t help but think that the service here and the food was top-notch. Keep it up, Flamin’ Pho & Sushi Bar! We will make the trek and come back for sure! P.S. their draft beers are so delicious and cold and are available in pitchers! Cheers!
This place is great. I am a picky dude when it comes to people and food. I come here often for a couple reasons. The House Special pho is my go-to, and it’s consistently delicious and filling. Price is very fair for the portions. I work nearby, and it’s a nice place to decompress when I have time for lunch. The servers are always friendly. They offer attentive service when I’m in a rush, and they leave me alone when I need to do some work at the table. I’ve never had a bad experience here. I haven’t tried the sushi yet, but when I do, I’ll leave another review. Highly recommend.
