Free People is a women’s clothing store at 2000 South Blvd #100 in Charlotte, North Carolina, in the South End area. It offers a local place to browse the brand’s women’s apparel in person, alongside the online shopping many customers use. The store may suit shoppers who are drawn to the bohemian, free-spirited look described by a customer familiar with the brand, or anyone who wants to see available pieces firsthand before deciding what fits their wardrobe. The supplied listing shows a 4.3-star rating from 126 reviews, offering one snapshot of customer feedback rather than a guarantee of what every visit will be like.

The location is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6:00 p.m. Its South Boulevard address makes it a convenient option to consider while spending time in Charlotte’s South End; the listing does not specify parking, public transit, accessibility, or other nearby amenities, so shoppers may want to check those details before visiting. Whether stopping in during a local outing or making a dedicated trip, customers can browse the store and ask staff about an item or its listed price. For current product availability, sizes, or other details, contacting the store or checking the brand’s online channels is a practical step.

Customer experiences in the supplied reviews are mixed. Some describe a lasting connection to Free People and appreciation for the brand’s bohemian style, while others report feeling ignored or receiving an unhelpful response when asking about a price. One reviewer also described feeling racially profiled during a visit. These are individual accounts, not a complete picture of every interaction, but they are relevant context for prospective shoppers and reflect why attentive, respectful service matters. The 4.3 rating and review count provide additional context, while recent feedback may help visitors form a more current impression.

For shoppers searching for Free People in Charlotte, NC, this South Boulevard store is a physical location to explore the women’s clothing brand and its distinctive style. It may be a good fit for customers who already wear the label, people curious about its bohemian aesthetic, or anyone who prefers browsing in person rather than relying only on online photos. Plan around the posted hours, allow time to look through what is available, and ask a team member for help if needed. As with any retail visit, selection and service can vary; the listing and reviews offer useful starting points, while an individual visit is the best way to decide whether the store meets your needs.

Unfortunately, my experience here was really disappointing. When I first walked in, I wasn’t greeted at all, while other customers were. When I went to ask an employee about the price of an item, she looked visibly annoyed because she was on her phone and simply told me, “It’s whatever is in the tag.” When we went to the fitting rooms, the employee didn’t acknowledge us, so I asked if we should just choose a room. She stared at me, looked me up and down, and then said, “Yeah… any room is fine,” in a very dismissive and rude tone. At checkout, we waited while the cashier finished doing something. Once she was done, she just stared at us instead of calling us over. Meanwhile, the other cashier was being extremely friendly and helpful to her customers, even asking them how they wanted their receipt. Our cashier barely spoke to us, only saying, “You can pay now,” and that the receipt was in the bag. When we looked for it, she responded, “It’s in there,” again in a rude tone. What made the experience especially uncomfortable was that the employees seemed noticeably friendlier and more welcoming toward other customers than they were toward us. I hate to assume someone’s intentions, but as a person of color, the difference in treatment honestly made me question whether we were being treated this way because of our appearance. I hope management takes this seriously and reminds employees that every customer deserves to be treated with the same basic respect and courtesy

Currently rethinking whether or not I want to be a Free People customer. I mostly order things online, but every once in a while, I pop into the store. There is always *something* when I come to this location. This last time, I came in …

My husband and I came to South End for lunch. I walked into Free People while he did his own thing. Some background, most of my closet is filled with Free People. I love that Bohemian look, Free spirit. I’m quite familiar that Anthropologie is a sister company etc. I feel as if there may be some ageism going on here. Can’t say for sure. The employees didn’t seem very interested in offering help. In fact they said a big hello to a young woman that came in right behind me. I know South End is a younger crowd but please! I did notice a few more Google reviews that complained about the lack of good customer service. I hope they read these reviews and make some positive changes.

Very disappointed, I had an uncomfortable experience at this location. I felt racially profiled while attempting to shop there. I have been a long standing supporter of this brand online and at other locations. I work hard for my money and …

I love free people but I think a requirement to work here is to be one of the rudest people on earth. Plus their lip liner always looks really bad
