Galleria Market

I used to think California (Kaju) Market was the best for Korean food, but Galleria Market beats it by far, especially for selections and deals including banchan selections

UPDATE: right in front of me! They let someone in that was Asian with a whole pack back didn’t even stop them. I have been shopping here without any instant for the past nine months and all of a sudden they need to have me leave my backpack yet other non-dark skin shoppers are never asked to leave their backpack all of a sudden I’m an issue! When I explained I have my medication in my backpack in case of a medical emergency they were like I don’t know so clearly race is an issue all of a sudden!

“I was excited to try Galleria Market because I just moved into the neighborhood literally a block away — I live behind the Jack in the Box across the street from the store — and as someone who is half Asian, I was genuinely excited to explore and support the market. I spent almost $30 trying several items, and the food itself was actually very good, especially the fried seaweed rolls and sweet potato items. Unfortunately, my experience at checkout with cashier Ka Jin Kim completely changed the vibe. I politely greeted her multiple times saying ‘hello, how are you?’ and was ignored each time. The only thing said to me was my total. It felt dismissive and very unwelcoming, which honestly disappointed me because I came in excited to support the business and try new foods. I would still recommend the food, but I truly hope the customer service improves because basic kindness and acknowledgment matter.”

Can’t go wrong with this. Black noodle is under $10 and Jjampong is under $12. Prices are reasonable but best in ktown. Plus plenty of parking. Will come back again

I personally enjoyed this Galleria location in the heart of DTLA, it was clean with ample deals must be because of the new year but still very reasonably priced Items, got some porridge, banana milk shake, Turtle Chips by Orion both the corn and churro chocolate flavor, fish sausage cake, tteokbokki, premade meal of beef galbi to go. Check the prices as they ring up - Luckily I did, they tried to over charge me for 1 of the items. Customer service was good! Its DTLA and I get it but I didn't like the fact that they ask you to put your bagpack behind a counter. When we asked the security guard if it was safe there, he didn't really have an answer *missing star I’m at a loss of whether Galleria is better than H-Mart both offer great deals, H-mart do have more hot food selection, both locations clean, H-mart did seem small and super cramped, I did like the ample seating at Galleria and the restaurant serving hot affordable food was soooo good. Which location would you choose?
