I moved to this area and i saw this groceries store. so i stop and want inside. They had hot food that you can order. They have this $19.99 meal deal. Carnesada. Beens, rice, salsa and tortillas. It sounds good. When i got home . It didn’t look like Carnesada. It tested burned and old and dry. Not only that I really thought they gave me pork that’s what it looked like. when i was ordering the lady even sounded like there wasn’t any meat. But the guy said yeah we do. Be honest specially. When it comes to food. You tell me guy would you eat this? Look at this old dry burn left over don’t even look like carnesada. Never again i will walk in this place. Or order anything. Sooo sad.

A great place to shop. There super nice staff continuously helped me even though I had to come back 3 times for more stuff. Fresh made tortillas, a lot of fresh food, tamales, and extensive array if beers and wines, an impressive selection for such a small store If this is in your area I would recommend making this a primary store for your fresh food needs.

Go here for most all my produce..good selection and prices verses the big chain stores. . They have loyalty program to get free eggs and they are nice enough to give me tortillas instead since I don't eat eggs. The tortillas are fresh and best in town. I like the weekly text to see their add on my phone !

Im a guy who was raised in South East San Diego. Love my mexican food. I recently moved to Lakeside and thought, I'm gonna have to give up buying mexican ingredients to cook.....WRONG!! This place has everything Northgate has. Thank God they exist. Highly recommend.

“I have been a customer for years. I buy their prepared middle eastern platers 3-4 times a week. We are in the holy month of Ramadan and I placed an order for tonight’s iftor. Sofia got the order all wrong, and to make things worse they charged me double. My wife called and asked to speak to to the owner, not there, no problem. Asked to speak to the manager and waited on the phone for quite a bit. Finally a man came on the phone and said “he’s busy” in a very rude manner. We don’t expect people to understand how hard it is to spend the day without food or water until sun down. What we DO expect is that employees be at least professional when dealing with customers. I guess “he’s busy” sums up the regard the manager has for the people who put food on his table. I used to be a customer of their store in Chula Vista since 2014, when we moved here in 2021 we continued being customers of the Lakeside store. Even though we have bought several items that were perished (lentils with bugs) we continued being loyal customers and have NEVER once complained until today. From now on it will be Lulu’s (Vine Ripe) where at least I know the food is halal and fresh. The manager insulted me in Spanish thinking I wouldn’t understand, he then said to another employee in Spanish “estos Árabes no saben poner a sus mujeres en su lugar como nosotros los mexicanos”. If they think so poorly about middle eastern people, why work for one? Maybe they need to change personnel around.
