This place is not the real Duc Huong sandwich shop. I came in to buy some fresh rolls displayed on the table in front of the cash registers. When I asked the cashier how much they were, she just stared at me without responding and continued talking to the other cashier in their native language. It seemed like they didn’t speak English, so I placed a $20 bill on the counter. When she gave me my change, she set it down on the far end of the counter and walked away angrily, speaking in Vietnamese. The staff here definitely need training in customer service and basic courtesy. I did notice, however, that they were polite and attentive to customers of their own ethnicity. The rolls I bought were good, but my experience with the staff was not. I won’t be coming back.

My visit to Gio Cha Duc Huong in San Jose was a great stop for authentic Vietnamese street food. This small deli-style shop is well known locally for its banh mi sandwiches and traditional Vietnamese meat items like cha lua and other pork specialties. The place has a simple and busy atmosphere, more like a takeaway shop than a sit-down restaurant. I ordered a banh mi sandwich, and it was very satisfying. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft inside, while the filling had a great balance of savory meats, fresh vegetables, and herbs. The flavors felt very authentic and reminded me of classic Vietnamese street food. One thing I noticed was how popular the shop is. There were several people waiting in line, which is always a good sign for a local deli like this. The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable, making it a great spot for a quick and affordable meal. Overall, Gio Cha Duc Huong is a solid choice if you’re craving Vietnamese sandwiches and traditional deli items in San Jose. The food is flavorful, authentic, and definitely worth trying.

This is a food to-go shop with a great selection of Vietnamese dishes that are perfect for a quick and satisfying meal. I particularly enjoyed the snail sausage, cinnamon sausage, and the various sweet soups, which were all flavorful and delicious. While the food is designed for takeout, the atmosphere inside the restaurant is still pleasant and welcoming. I appreciated the fun touch of the display of poems on the glass cabinet, which added a bit of personality to the place. The service from the staff was friendly and efficient, making the experience all the more enjoyable. Although the selection may be limited at times, the quality of the food makes up for it. If you're looking for a tasty and convenient meal on-the-go, this restaurant is definitely worth checking out. I recommend the snail sausage - it was cooked to perfection and had a great balance of flavors. Overall, a great experience at this food to-go spot.
