Lots of selection except on booze. Their spirits section used to be accessible without being locked up, and had more high-proof booze, but not so much anymore. They did recently improve their freezer section, and their prices remain excellent.

Discount shopping with tons of selection. Visited Hayward looking for a few items and was happy to find this large Grocery Outlet well stocked. The store is always a bit of a crap shoot for what will be in stock, but the volume of items compared to my local Grocery Outlet was incredibly high. The dairy/yogurt section was well-stocked and had varieties that I seldom see on the shelves. They also had instant coffee, another rarity at my local market. The register staff member was kind and welcoming, and she took pride in maintaining her checkout area. There’s a no backpack rule, but I checked with one of the staff, and she said that for small backpacks it was

I'm really sad to have to post this review. I have been shopping at this Grocery Outlet for many years the owners are lovely people, I actually followed them from the harder store to the Vermont Street store. I'm a very loyal person but this is the third time in the last 2 weeks that I have had a very unpleasant interaction with an employee that they're referring to as some sort of a manager? The first two times I just decided to shake it off as she's just doing her job or she's had a bad day, but after the next two exchanges it was obvious that she had some problem with me, it all started with a simple request for a bathroom key she didn't want to let me use the bathroom, ok I understand.I have been allowed to use the restroom on other occasions, I was even showed where the key was in case of an emergency. Like I said I've been there for a long time. I know most of the employees and the owners in fact during a robbery of their store and an attack on their employees and the owner by 3 men, I actually took it upon myself to go to my vehicle and get my weapon and aim at 3 people that were literally assaulting the owner and other employees. The fight went on for so long it didn't look like it was going to stop and there were no police in sight blood was drawn. The store owners were very grateful. It was a scary moment but I'm not going to sit by and watch as good people get robbed and then attacked for trying to defend what was theirs, anyway I digress. So I peeked into the back room announcing my presence saying hello hello is there anybody there, this young lady comes up to me and states you're not supposed to be back here and I explained to her, I understand that's why I was calling out. I was wondering if I could use the Ladies Room there's usually a key here and she said you're not supposed to be back here so basically no. Now its not what u say its how you say it. I did the rest of my shopping with a little bit of a hurt ego & I understand she doesn't know me, she's doing her job keeping people out of the back room but she could have offered me the key because others have. Putting that all aside I paid for my groceries and somehow she ended up at the same register that I was at. she was extremely rude had a look on her face pretty much giving me the stink eye & choosing not to really help me bag the groceries. I let it go and I thought to myself boy that was unpleasant. I went back a week later & once again met this young lady at the register. I chose not to Harbor any resentment but it was extremely obvious that she remembered me and still had some sort of a grudge. I was putting my phone number in the machine so I could enter my account and she mumbles under her breath what the hell are you doing, I thought to myself, she might have been talking out loud to herself because she was trying to put something in the system as well, so I decided to not pay attention to that comment, but when it was time to pay I started to help her bag some groceries & realized she never gave me the receipt, she apparently had just tossed it onto the table where my groceries were so when I was done bagging the rest of my own groceries she had already moved on she literally left me there still bagging my groceries. I had my own bags but ended up 1 short, now I need a bag but she has moved on, I ask for one, so she's like you can't have a bag unless you have a 75 cents. I have 75 cents but not cash, I'd have to use my card, but she ignored me and just kept checking out people, so I said nevermind I'll take it like this. So then I realized I never got my receipt and I politely told her I didn't get my receipt and she looks at me and gave me the dirtiest look and said it's right there and she points to it on the table behind my bags. Again with attitude, I have never not been handed a receipt in there and circled with what I saved? But ok, It's obvious she has some sort of problem with me? At that time I wanted to tell her about herself but out of respect for the owners and the other people in the store, Jen M rude, lost customer

I had a completely unacceptable and shocking experience at this store. Steaks were advertised for $5.99, with a clear sign in the meat section, but at checkout I was charged $6.99 each. When I politely pointed out the price, the cashier became aggressively hostile, loudly rolling her neck, speaking disrespectfully, and acting as if I were trying to steal — all in front of my child. She refused to refund the correct amount, initially trying to give me money back for only two of the three steaks I purchased, and even attempted to withhold my receipt. I had to physically show her the sign to get the full refund. Afterward, a store lead removed the pricing sign, which is misleading and deceptive. To make matters worse, the store charges $3.98 for alcohol that is available at Dollar Tree for $1.25, another clear example of overcharging and misleading pricing. This is not a minor mistake — it is consumer fraud, combined with hostile and intimidating behavior toward a customer and their child. I was shocked and upset by the complete lack of professionalism, honesty, or basic customer respect. Customers should never have to argue to receive advertised prices, be treated rudely, or be publicly humiliated while shopping. This store’s practices are dishonest, aggressive, and a bad look for the company. I will not be returning and strongly caution others to double-check prices and be prepared for extremely poor treatment.

Yes, yesterday I ran to grocery outlet to pick up a few items rather than Walmart.Because it was late. I got one banana for my dying grandmother and I was charged $9.99 for 1 banana, it wasn't even ring up. It came up under scrunchie's 6 pack I never bought any scrunchies, I don't buy scrunchies and so I called, in the morning because it was already late and the store was closed and a young man answered the phone and said no problem. I told my couldn't come till lunch or after work.He said he'd make a note.Write it down.I get to the store a little before six , and they treated me like I was a thief like I was trying to get over on something that never happened. They told me to wait for the cashier. He was on break, he proceeds to come back and says, I don't remember you, and I don't remember this. And I said , you're kidding , right , he said , no , you'll have to take it up with your owners! So in conclusion, they told me to call before 1 o'clock for the owners or come by. I'm going to call if they don't do right by their employees. Mistake and being rude, like the other Yelp said, I take it that everybody should go on TikTok Yelp and everywhere they can so that they cannot continue to prosper off a hard people's working money by overcharging, making a mistake and then not even wanting to reconcile it. I've been shopping there for 8 years. I've never had a problem when they've missed the coupons or anything else all of a sudden. Where's this evil spirit that's lurking there like everybody's out?But they keep forgetting without us grunt workers they'd have no store to flourish. What helps me sleep at night is a god sees everything and how people act , they may think they're getting away with it now , but we will all face the judgment's seat , no matter what. I told a respect of family wanting to protect their assets , but not at the cost of customer service and law abiding citizens that aren't dressed like trash or act like it like they're trying to get over on somebody. Beware , check your receipt before you even leave the parking lot.
