Hai Yan Grocery Store is a neighborhood grocery store at 2330 S 9th St in Philadelphia, PA 19148. It offers everyday convenience items along with groceries, produce, lunch meat, and hoagies, making it a nearby option for a quick top-up or a simple meal. Customer feedback also mentions lottery service and sandwiches. The selection described by shoppers suggests a practical, local stop rather than a large supermarket; availability may vary, so ask in person if you are looking for a particular item. For people living, working, or running errands near South 9th Street, its range of basic goods and ready-to-eat choices can be useful when a full grocery trip is not needed.

The food options are one reason customers include the store in their neighborhood routines. Reviews mention hoagies, lunch meat, and sandwiches, as well as produce and general groceries. One shopper says the owner is kind and has offered to get an item that was not in stock for a later visit. That account points to the value of asking about a product rather than assuming it is unavailable. At the same time, reviews are mixed: some customers describe a convenient selection, while others report concerns about product freshness or condition. If freshness dates or packaging matter for your purchase, check the item before paying. This practical step is especially helpful for packaged snacks and prepared food.

Hai Yan Grocery Store may suit nearby residents looking for convenience items, ingredients, produce, or a quick hoagie without traveling far. Its reported hours are 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. Hours and in-store services can change, so confirm directly if timing is important. Customer reviews also raise questions about payment policies, including a reported card fee, and whether EBT is accepted. Do not assume a particular payment method is available; check with the store before shopping or before completing a purchase. Asking about fees and eligibility at checkout can help avoid surprises.

The overall picture from 53 customer reviews is mixed, with a listed rating of 4 out of 5. Some shoppers appreciate the convenient grocery selection and a helpful owner, while others have described problems with food quality, checkout costs, or their experience in the store. Those reports are individual customer accounts, not guarantees of what every visit will be like, but they are useful context when deciding where to shop. For an errand on South 9th Street, Hai Yan Grocery Store offers groceries, produce, convenience goods, and sandwich options in one neighborhood location. Check items and payment details as needed, and contact the store directly to confirm current availability or policies.

Has some good convenience items but posts that they accept EBT and they do not. Be careful before you pay 10 bucks for juice and milk.

I will not go here again. First, my chips were soggy and flimsy when I opened the bag? Gross. My Mac n cheese was a few days away from being expired. They also charge you a dollar for using your credit card or debit card...it's 2023 that charge is on you all. Go to Qin's on Moyamensing instead

I wouldn't recommend people to go to this store . Crack heads go in there and sell stolen items that they stoled from other stores. They have a 10 year old doing the lottery machine there is a man that makes sandwiches and don't even wear gloves have the customers that come in there' don't even wear a mask the store owner does not enforce the issue the store needs to be shut down too many health issues in there
