5 stars for Holly. I will only go back to Happy Nails in Scripps Poway Pkwy if Holly is available. Other techs' methods all vary wildly and have left me bleeding and with painfully thin nails. Example 1. 2 weeka ago,One nail tech cut my nails on the sides way too too short and they bled leaving 2 nails extremely painful for 2 weeks. When I winced, She claimed I had ingrown hang nails and needed it. I do not have ingrown nails and did not have hang nails where she cut the sides of my nail off with large nail clippers! She cut beneath the nail bed twice. I will never have her touch my nails again. Example 2. This week I tried to make an appt with Holly and she was not available. I had gel manicire removed & replaced with a reg manicure by a different tech than in example 1. The tech did not soak my nails in warm water or apply gel nail remover or wrap my nails in foil as I'm accustomed to. The only tool she used was an extremely thick very abrasive nail file. I asked if she coupd not ise it and use foil instead. She just smiled at me. She filed my nails paper thin to get the gel off. I could have peeled it off and saved my nails. I now have extremely paper thin nails that are very painful. She filed them down to cosist3ncy of thin rice paper. I cant do anything with my hands without being in pain. After just 1 day after the manicure every nail is broken and paint is chipped on all 10 fingernails - see photos for reference. I now will need to trwt with oil and moisturizers and strengthening polish for at least a month before I can get another manicure. I paid $45 to have my nails destroyed. To the Manager at Happy Nails, you must train your staff to ensure all follow a consistent method/process. My family are regulars and will not be returning unless Holly can see us. The quality of service is unfortunately not as consistent as it used to be.

I decided to try this nail salon location since I’ve had good service from other locations in SD. I am very disappointed with my nails. The lady cut up my cuticles while trying to sand down the dip powder she put on. She was incredibly rough with my nails. My powder is lumpy and she didn’t even try to cover the whole nail with it or the gel top coat. You can see raw powder in certain spots where she didn’t apply gel. My nails are crooked and the edges are uneven and lumpy because she never went through and filed them correctly after applying the powder. I would of asked them to fix them but they sped through the service so fast they were already with another customer by the time I even could pay. I also am sure even if I let them try to fix it they’d just screw it up more. Never going to this salon again.

A friend booked appointments for us a week ago. We arrived and waited 20 mins. They sat us far away from each other so I requested to move closed to her once a chair was available. Sadly the way they have the chairs arranged this really isn’t a place to go and visit during your service. You have to turn awkwardly to see each other. My friend’s service began and I waited in the chair with my feet in the water for another 20mins… 30 mins… 40 mins… finally I got out of the chair dried my feet and sat I front of my friend so we could visit while her service continued. After being there for an hour and 10 mins I had accepted my fate that I wouldn’t be getting a pedicure. At that point someone offered me a free color change. I declined and said I would not like any service we were leaving once my friend was done. Three manicurists were then trying to explain why they were so short staffed. Look, I get it, staffing is hard, but tell me you’re short staffed when I arrive. Don’t make me wait for over an hour before beginning to try and save the business. What a big disappointment on what was supposed to be a special treat for me from my friend. I would understand if we had walked in, but we had appointments. This was really unprofessional. And to the manicurist at the end of the row that then started speaking badly about us to her client because we were upset, you are the reason I won’t be back.
