Sign in to reviewDr Nguyen and her medical assistant are a great team. Quick, attentive, and warm. Unfortunately that review cannot be applied to the front staff. I'm still a bit baffled by the encounter I had but reading some of the reviews I'm not surprised. As I was leaving she stated I owed $90, I had a similar experience at my dermatologist office about a week prior so I knew that the portal view was incorrect and that our family out of pocket had been met when I explained that to her, she curtly said well you can just pay the $90 now and will refund you back if that's the case. When I pushed back and said no I'd like to talk to my insurance she rolled her eyes, and acted like I was causing them a huge delay when I was the only one in the lobby. It took a few minutes but I was able to reach an insurance agent who again confirmed what I had said above, and she still responded with well the portal is still showing that you owe $90 - because of course a patient has control over the IT problems of an insurance plan - I finally had to ask her what do you need and just put her on the phone with the insurance agent who was much kinder and frankly had more patience with her than I did. I'm going through this much detail because I literally had the same experience with my dermatology office a week ago and that was not treated with the same rudeness - and I know that it's actually possible to engage with patients in a way that's respectful. I also didn't appreciate that she was talking about me within earshot to the gentleman in the back. So I'm just going to put this here in case anyone from their office actually reviews these but as the patient it's well within my rights to advocate for myself, so when I think something is incorrect I'm also allowed to check in the same appointment and not have to pay incorrectly.
I have had not negative experiences since I began seeing Dr.Nguyen back in 2022. I don’t think I’ve ever waiting longer than 15 min at arrival, front desk is fast and will answer phone quickly. The doctor has helped me with minor issues as well as a pregnancy and referrals to specialists. She has called me to follow up on results and educated me when I don’t understand how to care for myself during illness. I have nothing but positive experiences with this office.
This person's review is spot on: "it’s very difficult to get someone on the phone. What’s the point if her infrastructure and the lackluster staff makes everything HARDER? (I think her practice is more for people looking for laser treatments and cosmetic enhancements; not actually family medicine. If you are the former, I think this is the place for you. If you’re looking for an actual internist, to do more than a cursory exam, keep shopping for your PCP.)"
A terrible front desk staff = I can’t move forward with my healthcare. TLDR: it’s very difficult to get someone on the phone. What’s the point if her infrastructure and the lackluster staff makes everything HARDER? (I think her practice is more for people looking for laser treatments and cosmetic enhancements; not actually family medicine. If you are the former, I think this is the place for you. If you’re looking for an actual internist, to do more than a cursory exam, keep shopping for your PCP.) Context: Sadly, after a few visits and a couple more attempts, I can say the negative reviews about the front desk are warranted. Dr. Nguyen, I hope you read these reviews and make changes— it’s really a shame! Dr. Nguyen is a solid practitioner, though my appointments have been fairly brief and efficient to a point of transactional. That didn’t bother me as much as the front desk staff which is underwhelming, to say the least. Their phone system is abysmal, their customer service stance is nonexistent, and they do not seem to have any sense of urgency or patient focused rigor. 1. I’ve called the office line for a new appointment and the male staff person who answered literally said, “Hello?!” I was rushed through scheduling and it gave me the impression of crisis in the background. I can’t know for sure but something below the surface did not seem right here. 2. Most recently, I called for a referral and when I mentioned that the reception was bad each time they spoke (crackling and breaking up) they hung up on me and I could not get anyone to answer subsequent calls (which happened 2 seconds after hang up). I had to leave a message and repeatedly call back until I got someone. 3. And finally, I find myself preparing for a stressful experience with the front desk staff which is the exact opposite of what I need when I’m interacting with a doctor’s office.
My PCP retired recently and was referred to Dr. Nguyen. I called the office this morning and this guy Anthony was very rude on the phone and basically I'm not a good fit according to him. I'm trying to establish to be a new patient but this guy says that I need to find another doctor and hang up the phone. I called back and he again answered and want to speak to the manager and again very rude. He put me on hold for a long time and he says their very busy and will give my information to the Dr. Nguyen. What kind of an office is this???? Anthony is rude, rude, rude!!!
