Heng Seng Restaurant is a Cambodian restaurant at 2217 S 7th St in Philadelphia, PA, serving Cambodian and Southeast Asian noodle soups alongside fried dishes and rice. It is a neighborhood spot for an early meal, with doors open from 9 a.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Monday is closed. Customer feedback describes the food as authentic and consistently enjoyable, and the restaurant has a 4.4-star rating from 119 reviews. Whether you are looking for a bowl of noodle soup, a filling plate of fried rice, or Cambodian cookies to take along, Heng Seng offers a range of familiar and distinctive choices in one small, casual setting.
Noodle soup is a standout reason customers visit. Reviews mention kuy teav, a Cambodian noodle soup, as well as soup options with beef, pork, or chicken. The menu also includes dry noodles for diners who prefer noodles without broth, giving guests another way to enjoy the restaurant’s Southeast Asian noodle specialties. Some reviewers praise the soup’s flavor and authenticity; one notes that the meats in a bowl were not all immediately recognizable, so diners who have questions about ingredients can ask the staff when ordering. For those who enjoy a hearty noodle meal, the variety makes it easy to choose a familiar protein or explore something new.
Beyond the soups, reviewers call out special fried rice, including a version with several proteins and savory beef, as well as deep-fried noodles and other fried options. Cambodian cookies are another appealing find, with customers mentioning multiple varieties. These choices make Heng Seng a practical stop for more than one kind of craving: a warming bowl, a substantial rice dish, crisp fried noodles, or a sweet snack. The menu details shared by diners suggest an approachable mix of comforting dishes and regional specialties, with enough options for repeat visits and for guests who want to try Cambodian food for the first time.
The atmosphere is informal and unpretentious, more neighborhood eatery than polished dining room. Customers describe a friendly family-run feel, good service, and a clean space; one longtime visitor says the food has remained consistently good over years of visits. Reviews also mention that the restaurant is popular with locals, so the room can feel lively rather than quiet. Heng Seng may suit solo diners, nearby residents, families, or anyone seeking Cambodian noodle soup and casual Southeast Asian cooking in South Philadelphia. It is open Tuesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and closed Mondays. One reviewer reports that it is cash-only, so consider confirming accepted payment methods before your visit.

Delicious option for kuy teav[1] - Cambodian noodle soup - and they're open early (9am)! Besides noodles, try their special fried rice, it comes with all the proteins, including savory beef. Full of locals. Bring headphones if you're easily triggered: a dude answered two calls while I was there, and when he wasn't talking on the phone, he was endlessly on the TikTok. When he left, it was blessedly quiet except for noodle slurps. Quick service. Last I was here, the server was busy. When she had a moment, I left my seat to pay her early. When I got back to my table, my bowl was gone. :( On the bright side, there was very little left, but I was hoping to savor it... :D Limited seating. Cash only. There's a TV. (Thanks to whoever put the BBC on!) Warning: In the men's bathroom, the hot water can get extremely hot. [1] Anyone who knows me knows that I'm extremely loyal to a different kuy teav restaurant - this is my backup kuy teav spot.
Specializing in noodle soups from South East Asia, they also have choice of dry noodles too if you like. Beside the soups, they also have fried options and fried rice dishes too
Mom and pop kind of shop. Been going here for 5 years and I still order the same thing. Their food is consistently good! Cash only. This isn't a fancy place on the surface, but please don't let it fool you. The chef makes such amazing deep fried noodles 🤤. Friendly family and spotless clean. …
