Sign in to reviewI waited 50 minutes for a drink :| The sequence of unfortunate events: [[0 minutes]] Smooth ordering at the kiosk. Very excited for the mochi yingde special! [[25 minutes]] Waiting and people watching. Overheard another customer asking about an order. It turns out they ran out of mochi and it would take 10 minutes. [[40 minutes]] The staff were still telling people that the mochi is a "10 minute" wait. [[45 minutes]] Finally, I saw mochi being scooped into several drinks. [[50 minutes]] My order # still showed 'in preparation' on the screen, and they never called my #. I approached the staff and said "I wanted to check on my order, because I've waited for 50 minutes". The staff handed me my drinks, which had been sitting on the counter all along and said "have a nice day" [[finally got my drink]] I inhaled in a few minutes. Tragically, much of the mochi was stuck on the bottom and unreachable by the wide straw. I had to wait until I got home so that I could get a spoon and scoop out the coveted mochi. Thoughts: - With all their advanced technology, they could definitely better communicate and handle delays, like when they need to make a new batch of mochi. Plenty of other boba shops alert customers when something will take longer than expected. - They really need to fix the processing system so that orders are appropriately announced when ready. They have tons of orders, and it's impossible just by looking at the lineup to identify the drinks you got. There's nothing worse than waiting indefinitely because the order never properly scanned at completion. - Customer service could do something better than "have a nice day" for bloopers causing a 50-minute wait. (This is very long, even for restaurant food standards.) I've had lots of experiences where the business offered some sort of discount or a voucher for a future visit. Other notes: - Parking isn't too bad in the large plaza - Small seating area with a few chairs and standing tables - The seating area wasn't really the cleanest. One of the tables looked like it had gum stuck to the side (or maybe it's dried-up mochi) - On the bright side, I do like how all the drinks have little cute motivational quotes and small doodles on the labels - I also commend the eco-friendly considerations, like the options for cup choices for some drinks and the "unpackaged" option to be bagless (though I think that boba drinks packaged in branded gift bags is a little excessive)
This place is soooooooo good! We’ve tried about 70% of their menu and not one of them has done us wrong. There’s a reason that there’s always a line. Order on the app!! It’s faster and they give points which rack up fast because you will order often. Their boba is so soft and flavors so well balanced. One of the top places
Since I’ve discovered heytea had opened up in the area, I’ve been coming here 1x-2x a week. Wish they had more options, as I’ve already tried all of them!! But I will say, they’re allllll soooo delicious!!!
Want to start with a compliment. They had the most flavorful and delicious Brown Sugar Boba tea. Boba were lightly sweeten, warm and fresh. Absolute fav. Second fav was the matcha. It was light flavored and not too sweet. Least favorite was the blue drink and Mango Grapefruit as the bitterness from grapefruit put me off and mango was icey. I do feel it is on the expensive side. 4 drinks costed approximately $40.
the perfect sweet treat in westlake plaza. both drinks were so yummy. use their app to skip the lines
