Sign in to reviewHof's Hut was a first for me. We showed up for lunch and joined a 25-minute wait, which is always a good sign for a place like this. It still has that classic diner vibe with a big, multi-page menu. We went with the famous Hofburger and a breakfast quesadilla. Solid comfort food all around. The burger, with its Thousand Island dressing, gave me Big Mac vibes in a good way. The surprise of the visit? A little robot rolled up to our table with our food. Didn’t see that coming. A server followed to plate everything, but still…fun touch. And of course, you can’t leave without stopping by the bakery. We grabbed a small strawberry pie and a small coconut cream pie for home. Yum.
Great location near the beach. Service was good. Food came out fast. We got there at 4:30pm. Just beat a big crowd that came in few minutes later.
Chicken fried steak, hash browns, over easy eggs with rye toast. Gravy is a little bland, eggs a little undercooked. Overall delicious with delightful atmosphere. Highly recommend. There was no wait at 10:30am on a Sunday morning
Lupe is an amazing server. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was great. You know the food is good when all you hear is forks hitting the plate. Definitely a must go.
Now I know why this Los Alamitos staple has been around for so long. It's a fantastic eatery and I am sad I don't work nearby anymore. From the ambiance to the food and amazing customer service. Every aspect is great. The retro 50s vibes make you feel like you're transported back in time. The updated new building with the full bar is beautiful. Amazing hospitality throughout as well. I ordered the seasonal waffle griddle combo, the seasonal fruit was strawberries and they were sweet and unctuous. Even the over medium eggs were done just the way I like it, with the crispy edges. The only thing I would have liked would have been crispier bacon. Now I have to bring a pie home or the family will get mad at me
