Sign in to reviewCame in at 2pm on a Tuesday, and there was plenty of baked goods. I got the bbq pork buns (a package of 4) and a pre made sticky rice platter. $5 each. The buns were alright, not as sweet, not as much fillings but decent for $1.25/each in a pack of 4.
Is this a cake used for sale? The food quality was not good, they sold me the bun like in this picture, but this was the second after I returned one due to similar issues. Can said: poor quality I don't think they should keep the food which past its prime, sell it to the customer and then get real money. I can not eat the bun as dried, broken after unwrapping the plastic cover.
Grabbed a few pastry items here. Taro buns, pork rolls, crème filled pastries. The egg custard roll barely had any filling but the filling it has was good. The Taro Bun (pictured below) seemed to have plenty of filling The place itself does look very untidy and the old lady at the front is not the friendliest.
Fantastic Sesame Coconut Balls and Bánh Bông Lan. All of them were super fresh and delicious. The Bánh Bông Lan is super fluffy. Prices are reasonable here and I can't wait to return on my next trip in the area.
Not the best bakery, but prices are affordable. I like their sesame balls. They have 3 flavors: red bean, mung bean, and sesame with coconut. The sesame with coconut is more unique in my opinion since you don't commonly see it, but overall all were delicious. Each is $0.75. Also tried their bánh bột lọc and bánh it tran. Neither were that good. The bánh bột lọc was really hard, even when heated at home in the microwave, it was still hard. Also, I'm not a fan of the shrimp (which was an itty bitty piece) inside still having it's shell on. For the bánh it tran, it's supposed to have meat in it, and oddly enough, I think there was only 1 with meat and it and again, it was a tiny piece of meat. Otherwise, the rest of the bánh it tran we're filled with mung bean which isn't what it's traditionally filled with. It's a very small, cramped shop. They have a variety of other breads and treats. I mainly only stop by whenever I come to the Asia Time Square during their Chinese New Year celebrations, otherwise, I wouldn't go out of my way to specifically come to this bakery.
