About

Hong Kong Supermarket is an Asian grocery store at 1 Brighton Ave in Boston, Massachusetts, serving shoppers looking for Asian pantry goods and everyday grocery items. Its selection includes packaged Asian groceries and dry goods, with customer feedback describing many items as Chinese in origin. One shopper specifically praised the oranges for their sweetness, while other reviews mention vegetables and staple goods. The store may be a practical stop for people who want to browse in person and compare familiar ingredients with products they may not find in a conventional supermarket.
The range is a recurring reason customers visit: reviewers describe a variety of selections and authentic goods, including dry staples for stocking a student’s kitchen. Those comments suggest Hong Kong Supermarket can be useful for Boston-area residents, students, and households seeking Asian grocery products for home cooking. Selection can vary by shopper expectations, however. Some reviewers hoped for a broader range, especially compared with larger markets elsewhere, and one described the offerings as centered mostly on goods from China. If you are searching for a particular brand or ingredient, checking in person is the clearest way to see what is currently available.
Customer experiences are mixed, and a helpful description should include that context. The business has a 4.0-star rating based on 1,640 reviews, while individual comments range from praise for particular purchases to concerns about the store’s condition, pricing, and checkout experience. Some reviewers describe the space as old or in need of improvement, and mention dirty shelves, construction, or slow lines. Others continue to shop there and value the available selection. These are customer-reported impressions rather than guarantees of what you will encounter on a given visit, so shoppers may want to assess the products and conditions for themselves.
Hong Kong Supermarket is open daily, Monday through Sunday, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:45 p.m., according to its listed hours. Its Brighton Avenue location makes it an option to consider when planning an Asian grocery run in Boston. Visit for packaged Asian groceries, dry pantry staples, or to see whether produce and other items suit your needs. For the most useful trip, allow time to browse and check labels and product condition, particularly if you are shopping for a specific ingredient. Whether you are a longtime customer or a first-time visitor, the store’s range and customer feedback can help you decide if it fits your shopping list.

Apr 20 The oranges I bought from Hong Kong Supermarket are so, so sweet! Just like the love our Lord gives us — sweet and full of joy! May the Lord bless everyone with peace, happiness, sunshine, and a joyful heart to run freely in His love! “You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.” — Isaiah 55:12💛 May4 I made a full tray of translucent, springy, perfectly intact crystal dumplings! The kind that makes you say, “Wait… am I dreaming? Did I just do this?” And the answer was: yes I did, thanks to my humble ingredients from Hong Kong Supermarket😁 I went shopping twice this week and got everything I needed from there. Here’s what I used: — Crystal Dumpling Skin: - Har gow flour (虾饺粉) — mixed with hot water and kneaded into the softest, most elastic dough. Perfectly see-through when steamed! — Filling: - Fresh chives + scrambled eggs (aromatic and balanced) - Tiny dried shrimp (虾皮) — just a pinch for deep umami flavor - Tofu slices (豆腐干) — for clean texture and bite - Vermicelli noodles (粉条) — silky and slurpable! I steamed them while smiling to myself like a little kid. When I lifted the lid and saw them sitting there, glowing in the steam like moon dumplings… I knew: Happiness is coming! Thank you, Hong Kong Supermarket, for helping make a small culinary dream come true. This wasn’t just a dumpling. It was a victory. It was joy. It was a love letter in edible form. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.” — Habakkuk 3:19 To everyone who shops with love, To everyone who stands in the kitchen with sleepy eyes but a joyful heart, To everyone who stirs, wraps, boils, steams, and serves— May your hands always bring warmth, May your food always taste like comfort, And may your kitchen be filled with laughter, peace, and quiet victories. What you cook is happiness. What you eat is love. Bless you. ❤️ May 10 What a joyful surprise! These plant-based Crispy Pies were incredibly delicious—crispy on the outside, savory and tender inside. 375°F in the air fryer for 12 minutes (flip halfway), and boom—pure happiness! My kids and I were so excited, we were laughing and racing to grab the last one! Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful moms and to the amazing staff at Hong Kong Supermarket! Thank you for filling our home with flavor and joy! “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. Her children arise and call her blessed.” — Proverbs 31:25–28 May17 My first silverfish & scrambled egg was a success! It was a plate of sunshine, a plate of hope. May we all be surrounded by warmth, health, and gentle days ahead. ❤️ “The Lord bless you and keep you.” — Numbers 6:24 Thank you for all the fresh ingredients and a taste of home.☺️ Jan31,2026 I made Hong Kong style pan-fried noodle today. The taste reassured me that warmer days are coming soon. God bless you! Love never fails! Amen!
Place has a lot of selections, but feels quite run down. Shelves can be dirty, and random construction was happening with no real divider. I absolutely would not get anything not pre packaged from here, but if you need pre packaged Asian groceries, this is an option.
It's really old pretty dirty. I was hoping for better selection. Ok selection. Pretty expensive. Has very authentic goods not as big selection as I'm used to from west coast. mostly from china. Didn't get any fresh foods. Only bought dry goods staple to set son up for college. No photos of store
I’ve been shopping here for a while and I really wish they can improve. There are always random constructions in the shop, staffs are the rudest people ever, checkout line is always so so so slow and inefficient, veggies are getting more expensive (even though things are always “on sale”), and there was a time I got a box of egg rolls only to find out EVERYTHING was crumbled. Honestly, try to avoid going to this place please.
Always a satisfying stop! Chipotle never disappoints — fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and plenty of options to customize your perfect bowl or burrito. I love how everything is made right in front of you, and the portions are generous! Whether you’re craving something hearty or eating clean, there’s something for everyone. The staff was friendly, the line moved quickly, and the food hit the spot. 🥑🌶️ A solid go-to for a quick, flavorful, and feel-good meal!
