Hủ Tiếu Nam Vang is a Vietnamese restaurant serving noodle-focused meals at 1818 Tully Rd #110 in San Jose, California. Located within Lion Plaza's indoor food court, it offers a casual stop for people looking for hủ tiếu and dry noodle dishes in San Jose, CA. The restaurant holds a 3.9 rating from 43 reviews, and customer comments include praise for noodle textures, meat portions, and a lunch that feels straightforward and flavorful. The address places it in the city's Tully Road corridor, convenient for a planned meal or a nearby stop.

Hủ Tiếu Nam Vang's menu is most closely associated with hủ tiếu, including dry preparations served with soup on the side. Reviewers describe choices such as clear noodles, chewy noodles, and dry egg noodles, giving noodle lovers different textures to consider. One noted order was Mì Khô, described as shrimp, pork, and dry egg noodles. Another customer appreciated a simpler presentation that allowed them to adjust the seasoning and sauce to personal taste rather than receive a bowl that was overly saucy or salty.

Details around the bowl matter here. Customers mention heated bean sprouts, which help keep the meal from cooling down, as well as pork and a side of broth with dry noodles. The chili sauce has earned specific praise for its flavor, while a side of tea was a welcome touch for one diner. These comments suggest a place where guests can build their preferred balance of noodles, soup, sauce, and condiments. For diners who like to control how much sauce or heat goes into a dish, that flexibility is especially useful.

The setting is informal and practical: Hủ Tiếu Nam Vang operates in an indoor food court, so it suits an everyday meal more than a formal, extended dining occasion. A reviewer called it a fast and delicious lunch, and others have said they make a point of visiting for the hủ tiếu despite the food-court location. It can be a fitting choice for solo diners, couples, families, or anyone in the Tully Road area who wants a focused Vietnamese noodle meal without a complicated experience.

Open daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Hủ Tiếu Nam Vang provides a consistent option for breakfast, lunch, or an early dinner in San Jose. Portions, prices, and ordering experiences can vary by individual visit; one review raised a concern about an incorrect charge, so it is sensible to confirm the order and total at checkout. For a casual bowl of hủ tiếu or dry noodles, this San Jose Vietnamese restaurant is a local option to consider.

Not sure why Google has them listed as closed bc I’ve been coming here for months! It’s a fast and delicious lunch! Good portion and lots of meat. Their chili sauce was so yummy too. Side of tea was a nice touch. I had the dry noodles, both type and my hubby just had the chewy noodles. I think he said it was $1.50 more for a large. Love the food court atmosphere bc the staff there are so nice and they clean the tables quickly.

Wanted to try this hu tieu place for awhile. Some serve it usually too saucy and salty so this was simpler so I can add more sauce to my taste. I like clear noodle and the soup on the side. The textures were nice, they heated the bean sprouts so it did not make the other food cold. It came with pork, shrimp, quail eggs and squid. It also came with tea. Service was nice and efficient.

I was still hungry after eating #12 Mi Kho (shrimp pork dry egg noodles) $15.25. It was an enjoyable meal. Phi Hu Tieu Nam Vang is located inside of Lion Plaza's indoor food court. Wow this plaza has turned into a ghost town compared to the other San Jose Vietnamese plaza on Story Road. That other plaza recovered well after Covid. Back in the early 2000's, you can't find a place to park, let alone find a seat in the food court. We used to come here with our Vietnamese friends to buy bootleg CD's and grab food/sugarcane drinks. Phi's does dry noodles well with bone soup on the side. They have a spices station with fresh cut garlic, whole chilies and sauces. This is fantastic! My noodles came out within five minutes and I was ready to eat. There were too many pieces of pork liver. Some people like it, but I don't. The egg noodles had good texture and I enjoyed it. Too bad there weren't enough of it. I liked dipping the meats into the sauce I made. My bone piece had meat on it and that tasted great too. I was looking for a soft spot to see if there was bone morrow, but no. If you are in Lion Plaza already, this is a good spot for dry noodles. Good job chef and counter girl at Phi's.

This is located in the food court. This you tieu is one of the best in this city. I go out of my way to come here to eat, even though it’s a food court. They have the best hu tieu! One issue is I don’t think they always charge me correctly for what order. I have been overcharged. However it is the best in the city. I always order the special „dai“ (chewy glassy noodle, dac biet meaning „special“ dry. The soup is on the side and has pork bone in it. That flavors is 5 star but their practices are not too honest… Still delish. Went again. I order the dry version. The “glass” noodle is coated with lovely dark sauce and soup with bone on the side.
