About

Hung Vuong Supermarket is listed on FindALoco in Philadelphia, PA with address, phone, website, hours, and map location. Common services and related keywords include Asian Grocery Store.

Hung Vuong Supermarket is an Asian grocery store at 1122 Washington Ave # A in Philadelphia, PA 19147. It offers a place to browse a wide selection of food, with customers mentioning produce, seafood, and meat among the variety available. For shoppers who enjoy discovering unfamiliar ingredients as well as picking up groceries, the market can make a regular shopping trip feel like an opportunity to explore. Its location on Washington Avenue also makes it a convenient stop for people shopping in the area.

One item that stands out in a customer review is freshly chopped pork from the whole roasted pig displayed in a glass case. That detail offers a concrete reason for meat lovers to take a look while shopping. Other visitors describe finding many choices, good prices, and fruits and vegetables they had not encountered before, alongside a substantial selection of seafood and meat. Selection and value are recurring positives in the feedback, though individual experiences can differ; the available reviews do not establish that every item is in stock on every visit.

The supermarket may suit home cooks looking for a broad range of ingredients, shoppers interested in Asian groceries, and visitors who like to browse rather than follow a short, fixed list. A customer also described stopping in after a meal at nearby Pho 75 to explore the market, suggesting it can be an appealing add-on to time spent in the neighborhood. The atmosphere is best understood as a working grocery market focused on food and choice, rather than a destination with a described dining or entertainment program. Customers who plan meals around specific ingredients may want to check product details and availability in person.

Feedback is mixed, so it is worth shopping attentively. While several reviewers praise variety, freshness, and prices, one reported finding mold on tofu before its printed expiration date and purchasing seitan that was already past its date. Another account raises concerns about customer service and being asked to leave a personal shopping bag at the entrance. These are individual reports, not a guarantee of what every shopper will experience, but they are useful context: check dates and packaging, inspect perishable items, and clarify bag policies before entering if needed. Hung Vuong Supermarket is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 7:40 p.m., according to the listed hours. Its 4.2-star rating across 1,714 reviews reflects a range of experiences, with selection and value among the positives and service or product-condition concerns also appearing in customer feedback.

I’m very disappointed after a recent purchase just last week. Tofu already has mold on it even though expiration date hasn’t passed (says July 18 if you look carefully) and they sold me a seitan that had expired in Jan. The issue with the tofu is likely improper refrigeration during transit, I’m guessing. We brought it straight home and refrigerated it. Photos attached. I’d appreciate a gift card from the store, or replacement of the items if possible. I’m happy to show you the credit card I used since I’m unsure if I still have the receipt, but it was just last week or so. I went to use the tofu tonight and was so disappointed. Then opted to use the seitan instead, and horrified to see expiration date. (Please look carefully to see the expiration printed top of the tofu - I was already opening it when noticed the horrible mold) It seems here from the other reviews that freshness and sanitation could be an ongoing issue. Only a matter of time before sanitation may fine the establishment if this continues. It’s a shame because in the past, I always loved to shop here.

Good place for shopping food, fresh, good prices and a lot of choices! But there is something that I can not understand. Today I carry my own shopping bag with me because I not want to used plastic bags . I the guy who sit at the door to enter market stop me and ask me have to leave me empty shopping bag at his table if I wanna shopping inside?! Check in my empty without any number or something for later I check out my bag ?! I saw a lot of people that carry they back bag handbags... and I can carry empty one ?! Do they think I come here to steal a lemon or a chilly pepper? Or those people if they bad they can’t steal something and put it in their bags? Or because they races me? Don’t take me wrong, I like to shopping here a lot but I hope that whoever in charge see this review and make thing better for everyone every shopper feel comfortable to shopping here!

(1). I have been a customer to shop at the Hung Vuong Food Market located at 1122 Washington Ave., Phila., Pa 19147 for yrs including the yrs operated by the previous owner. (2). I like to stipulate the facts that I was so embarrassed, misled, no customer service common courtesy, & treated like a secondary citizen to the public by the Customer Service Rep., & her higher up in the afternoon on Fri., 06/13/2025. (4.) I simply went to the store to request a refund with the paid receipt & the food item itself in good faith to show that the food item was Entirely Molded, & the label indicated to “keep refrigerated”, “No date for the best use on the Label” either. (5.) I was told, face to face, by the said Customer Service staff as it follows: A. No, it’s too long after the food item was bought. Pls see the receipt. B. No, the item should have been stored in the freezer. Pls see the information on the Label. The food item Wasn’t in the freezer in the store when the item was bought by me. C. No Refund! The said higher up stated that the food item could be exchanged this time Only, and No Exchange or Refund if it happens again! D. And the said higher up further stated that it’s OK if it’s reported to the police (She meant, Authority, City of Phila., Department of Health, Food Protection.) E. It’s shameful that the poor customer service consideration, no common courtesy, don’t care attitude were all demonstrated to the public! The results are just hurting customers/people, business, communities, & divides our good culture from where we are from & in the U.S. They take advantages of my good nature. Pls respond.

We had so much fun exploring Hung Vuong Supermarket. After eating at Pho 75, it was the perfect after lunch stroll to explore all the variety that the supermarket offered. Not only were there fruits and vegetables that I have never seen in my life, there were a huge variety of seafood and meat offerings as well. Even the prepacked foods were fun. I highly recommend taking a stroll through Hung Voung Supermarket. Try something new and soak up the variety!
