On our CA vacation, my best friend invited us to Huong Viet restaurant for dinner. The cuisine was average, my cooking skills are on par. The servers were very polite, and the ambiance was nice.

First time in here, ordered 3 curries to go. Waited 25 minutes for the food when there was not even one customer in there (not exaggerating). Kitchen staff talking loudly in back instead of cooking. After arriving home, there was only chicken in 25% of curry broth. NO CARROTS OR POTATOES were in there AT ALL!!!! Chicken was unbelievably salty that I had to add a whole cup of water just so I can dip my day old bread that they supplied. First & last time here. Service is terrible and food is worst. Super disappointing as I root for small businesses to thrive.

I’ve been a regular customer here. Today my total was $14.66 and I was short one cent, so I politely asked if it was okay. I understand if policy doesn’t allow it, but the cashier responded by saying I was “making it difficult,” which felt unnecessary and uncomfortable. I still paid the full amount, but I hope staff can communicate more respectfully with customers.

Firstly, thank you for the food. It provided us with nutrition. I understand this is a new restaurant and it is hard to establish a rhythm. Still, it was disappointing. My mom was very excited to try this place and ordered to-go the bún bò huế, her favorite. She brought it home and there were no herbs, veggies, or sa tế. She was sad for me. She ordered my favorite, hủ tiếu, and there were also no limes, chilies, or other accompaniments. We still ate it all, but we were both disappointed for each other. Also it was too sweet. If this restaurant doesn't want to go under, just improve! This is my advice. We were disappointed and don't want to come back, but if you improve, maybe we will.

Bought 4 servings of bun bo hue. The portion size are large with lots of veggies. The amount of food is enough to feed 6 people. The broth is rich and flavorful. The noodles are of good quality. Veggie is fresh. The meat portion was more than I was expected and the meat is seasoned all the way through. Overall this has one of best bun bo hue that I have had in a long time. Crazy that it is very affordable for the quality and quantity.
