From start to finish our dinner at Isekai was fantastic. We were greeted immediately and got a table in Brian’s section. Brian quickly asked if we’d been there before, how we’d heard about the restaurant and if he could help us with anything. Super friendly and great service. Even if the food wasn’t incredible, I’d come back just because of him! We started with the Twin Bao and Artisan dumplings, both were delicious. The Bao was filled well and the dumpling filling was super tender. Then we did the Nigiri flight which had SO MANY FRESH, DELICIOUS AND FLAVORFUL bites. Can’t say enough about this. It’s also priced really well since it’s comes with the 12 pieces and a miso soup or salad. Then we had a Smoke the Dragon roll which was so good I forgot to get a picture and a classic hosomaki role with tuna that was fatty but still had a good bite to it. I was blown away by this experience and it wasn’t pretentious or stuffy. Loved it and we’ll definitely be back!
My new top sushi spot in the area. What a relief to find a genuine sushi spot like this. Not only is the fish incredibly fresh, the service from everyone on the staff is top notch. The sushi chef Chris flys in from Japan is unique and oh so tasty. I was able to try some cuts I’ve never had before, and all the traditional staples. Even the way the rice is made for the rolls stands out to me. The small details are a great touch. Especially the fresh ginger you can’t find at any other sushi spot in Tampa. If you’re looking for fancy overpriced trendy sushi, this is not it, and man it’s so nice to find a sushi spot in Tampa NOT trying to be that. If you’re wanting genuine, fresh sushi, this is your go to. Where the chef actually comes out and talks to you, and every dish is made with pride. And if you like Sake, you’re in the right spot! Amazing selection and priced right. You won’t be disappointed. You’ll feel right at home.
We had a fantastic experience at this sushi restaurant. It was on a Friday evening - early, and then it suddenly got crowded. Zoe was our server, and she was excellent. This is the best sushi in Tampa - hands down! It’s fresh, with unique offerings that are not Americanized.
Such a fun lunch spot with an Isekai/anime theme that doesn’t skip on quality! My boyfriend and I came in for the lunch special — he got the iced coffee, I had the iced tea, and we both added a seaweed salad and a house salad with ginger …
I was absolutely blown away by how good this place was. Tampa has a lot of Japanese places, but this one stood out in a very good way. It feels more like an authentic neighborhood restaurant that you can stop in and get something quick to eat. I heard the staff talk to regulars by their first name. The food came out quickly. The portions are good. The quality is excellent, and I felt that it accurately represented what you would see on a generous menu in a Japanese restaurant. We will absolutely be coming back.
