Joe V's Smart Shop

After driving by and looking it up online, we found out that this is an HEB store with lower prices. We checked it out and it's great! So many low prices and you get the HEB and Central Market brands. It's a typical grocery store with a bakery, pre-made meals, meat, groceries, household goods, and more. Brush up on your Spanish as most employees I spoke to only speak Spanish. The cashier I talked to speaks English. I asked for some cardboard boxes from their display areas and they let me have them. Looking forward to shopping here again.

Very hard to beat the prices at Joe V's. It's fair across the board. Was able to get a large pork shoulder for $7 and two large ribeye steaks for $20. Those same steaks would cost double if not more at all the competiting stores. So all in all, it makes grocery shopping so much more affordable even with the prices of everything going up. Just wished the parking lot was larger though. Be prepared for crowds too and it is very chaotic moving around inside the store but just be patient and you can save a ton of money!

Heard about the new opening in Irving, had to investigate. Yep, it's truly everything that you'd expect from HEB, but for the budget conscious consumer. Deals galore. Right now nearly everywhere, spareribs are no lower than $2.89 - $3.39/lb. Here, meaty spareribs, $1.97/lb. Yes, most of us that love ribs like them St. Louis trim, but those start at $3.98/lb up to $4.29. Well cut the tips off the end, trim the flat end, boom, St. Louis trim plus rib tips, both @ $1.97/lb. Smoked them yesterday 4 hrs @250° on full smoke, then wrapped 1 hr, then glazed on direct flame. So much meat they looked competition grade. This is like Winco prices meets Central Market quality. Don't get me started on the produce department. Like a fresh garden of gorgeous fruits and veggies. If you're into fresh sushi? Yep, a sushi bar right through the door. Merry Christmas and a Juicy Spareribs. Peace y'all.

Fresh produce, great price on bread and bakery items. New store so everything is shiny. Management is approachable and seems to want to rectify issues. I stop by on my way home when I need items they would have. They do lack any real need selections in the meat section but if you know that going in it's OK.

7/9/26 - Just a heads-up for anyone using Joe V’s new delivery option. I noticed that the prices of groceries increase when you switch from in-store shopping to delivery. For example, the brisket queso dip was $11.83 in-store but $12.90 for delivery. The tortilla chips were $2.77 in-store but $3.02 for delivery, and an avocado went from 97¢ to $1.06. These increases appear to be around 9%, and that’s before the delivery fee and any tip. I’m glad delivery is now available, but customers should be aware that they may be paying higher prices for the groceries themselves, not just a delivery fee.
