I went to Kan Kiin for brunch on a Friday and had such a great experience. We were seated right away with no wait, which was a nice surprise for brunch hours. The aesthetics of the restaurant are absolutely beautiful — it feels like stepping into a luxurious rainforest with a trendy, upscale vibe that makes the whole experience feel special. The food also came out really fast, and everything we ordered was delicious. We got the fried chicken & waffles, the 2-Way Banana French Toast, and the fried chicken burger. Every dish was flavorful, fresh, and satisfying. The chicken was crispy and juicy, and the French toast was easily one of the highlights of the meal. The only thing that disappointed us a little was the pineapple colada. It tasted more like straight pineapple juice, and we could barely taste the coconut flavor. Not terrible, just not what we expected. Parking in the area can be a little difficult, but we found that parking near the nearby Home Depot made it much easier since there’s plenty of space down the block. Overall, I’d highly recommend this spot for a cute brunch date or even a family outing. Great atmosphere, quick service, and genuinely good food — definitely a place worth checking out.

We went here for a brunch on a weekend which also happened to be holiday so there was a line of people waiting. Parking was absolutely insane at that time but likely easier on weekdays or non holidays because there's a whole lot of parking in front of the venue and also by the shopping plaza and residential apartments. The service was good and we didn't have to wait too long for the food. The place was casual but nicely decorated. The food servings were good. We didn't have any reservation so we waited along with the other customers outside in the cold which we all wished they had a bench to seat outside.

Finally got to try this spot to see what all the hype was about. Michelin they said. Ordered the chicken and waffles, crab/mushroom omelette & braised pork. Coffee and a cocktail for drinks. The presentation is very nice. Dug into the omelette first. To my disappointment, The mushrooms were not cooked at all. They could have cooked them down more. The egg was pan scrambled and the serving was small. It came with potato wedges that were cold. The crab was a very small serving. So this dish to me is a 5/10. The coffee was strong but the cocktail was just juice and didn’t find any liquor in it at all. The pork came with a sunny side egg which was cooked right with crunchy ends. That was good. The Brussel sprouts were good. The pork was tender but it tasted a lot like Filipino adobo. The sauce was under seasoned. The pork was very fatty if you like that sort of thing. I’m not a fan. 6.5/10. The highlight was the chicken and waffles. Only the presentation was good. The chicken was tender and crunchy but undercooked. Very disappointing. The waffle was not crispy at all and soggy when we sliced it. 7/10. For the prices on these dishes, it’s definitely not worth it. If I ever decide to go back, I would try other dishes to see if there is any improvement. But for now, in this economy, I would skip this place. Unfortunately, It’s not Michelin at all.

Kan Kiin Brunch & Thai Eatery is truly a hidden gem in Daly City. I’ve been back three or four times already, and it’s consistently a great experience. The space is beautifully designed with a strong sense of atmosphere—warm, stylish, and perfect for gathering with friends or family. The service is always friendly and welcoming. That said, when it gets busy, food can take a bit longer to come out, so it’s best to come with a relaxed mindset and enjoy the vibe. My experience so far is based on dinner only (I haven’t tried their brunch menu yet), and there are several standout dishes I highly recommend: • Seafood Tom Yum Soup Hot Pot (highly recommended): Perfect for sharing among 3–4 people. Rich and creamy with strong coconut notes, balanced by tomato and lime acidity, and packed with fresh seafood. This is an absolute must-order. • Fresh Crab Fried Rice (Chef’s Special): Beautifully presented in a large coconut shell, very generous portion, and loaded with crab meat. Both visually impressive and delicious. • Spicy Catfish Clay Pot: The fish is very tender and pairs perfectly with rice—comforting and satisfying. Some dishes were less memorable: • Roti with Massaman Curry Beef Chuck was just okay—the sauce leaned quite heavy and sweet. • Lazy Herbal Beef had tougher beef, and the sauce mixed into the rice was a bit too salty for my taste. Their mocktails are also very good, refreshing and well-balanced. Overall, Kan Kiin is a place I strongly recommend. Flavor preferences may vary, but it’s definitely on the bolder, heavier side, so those who prefer lighter or more delicate flavors may want to order carefully. Still, it’s a standout spot in Daly City and absolutely worth a visit.

Came here for lunch on a Sunday with 2 friends. They were pretty busy; there’s a Yelp waitlist you can join. Service was nice and friendly, we got our drinks pretty quick. I ordered a berry thai tea. Personally, the fruit puree made it a lil too sweet for me, but my friend really liked it. I got the beef and eggs over thai fried rice. The beef slices had a nice crust and were cooked perfect medium rare, but man the fried rice was the star for me. I love that it was a lil sweet, a lil spicy, and that pop of basil flavor. It was so good I kept thinking about it hours after 😂 We also enjoyed their mango sticky rice and roti banana ice cream for dessert. Would definitely come back to try their other items!
