Kathmandu Market & Deli is a grocery store located at 2521 Telegraph Ave in Berkeley, California, 94704. Its Telegraph Avenue address makes it a neighborhood stop for packaged groceries and deli-related purchases in Berkeley. The business is open daily and operates into the late evening or early morning hours, offering a practical option when a standard daytime shopping trip does not fit your schedule. It may be most relevant to local residents, students, and visitors who need a quick grocery run close to the city's Telegraph Avenue corridor.
Hours run from 9:00 AM to 1:00 AM Monday through Thursday and Sunday, with later closing at 2:00 AM on Friday and Saturday. Those extended hours are a notable part of the store's local convenience. Before making a special trip, it is sensible to contact or visit the market to confirm the availability of a specific grocery item, deli item, or order, particularly late at night and when purchasing something you need right away.
Customer feedback references Rara noodles, samosas, onions, milk, and prepared hot food, giving prospective shoppers a sense of the kinds of items discussed by people who have visited. These references do not confirm current inventory, prices, or recipes, which can change. If you are considering packaged foods, check the date and condition on the item before purchasing. If ordering food or paying for a pickup, review the order details, substitutions, and final total at the counter so expectations are clear.
Kathmandu Market & Deli has a 3.3 rating based on 119 reviews. Reviewers have described the location as convenient, while other feedback raises concerns about product dating, pricing, billing, order fulfillment, prepared-food quality, and staff interactions. Experiences appear to vary, so shoppers who value a quick, nearby stop may wish to balance the late hours and location with a careful review of the items and charges in their own transaction. This context can help visitors decide whether the market suits a routine errand or an immediate need.
For anyone searching for a grocery store in Berkeley, CA, Kathmandu Market & Deli is identifiable by its Telegraph Avenue address and late-night schedule. It can be worth considering for a convenient stop when its hours meet your needs. Approach each purchase with the usual care: verify the item, price, and order before leaving. That straightforward check is especially useful when buying packaged groceries, deli food, or a pre-paid order. Availability may change during late hours, so this is a practical detail to confirm in person before committing to a purchase or relying on it for a particular item.

Seems like a nice, convenient place, until they: 1. Tell you they’ll give you 2 samosas for the price of 1, but bill you for 2 2. Up charge onions by 200% (1 lb for $4!!!) 3. Also up charge milk like crazy 4. Have the gall to post pictures of students who steal from their store, as if they’re not also scamming people Listen to the other bad reviews, and avoid this place.
Worst experience I have ever had with a service employee. The staff is extremely rude, unhelpful, and unpleasant. They also attempt to monopolize all Indian goods and severely overcharge for many items. Would highly recommend choosing any other market. Edit, response to owner: Thank you for your response. I understand your desire to protect your store from theft, and I can appreciate that. However, your description of the incident is a complete misrepresentation of the facts. During the first incident, I inadvertently made a few steps towards the exit with unpaid items before realizing my mistake, apologizing profusely, and immediately paying. I was a consistent customer for months, and although I immediately apologized for my mistake, your staff berated me for minutes and rifled through my bag. It is 100% inaccurate that I was verbally abusive at any point. What occurred today, when I returned to the store, was even more concerning. In retaliation for my review, you attempted to take my photo without my consent, to display it on a “wall of shame” for shoplifters. This is a gross violation of my privacy, and I find it deeply troubling. The shoplifting accusation is completely baseless and inaccurate. It’s clear that this entire situation has been handled in an unprofessional manner. My review was simply a reflection of my experience, and I have every right to express my dissatisfaction. Retaliating by banning me from the store, cornering me in person, and attempting to shame me publicly is both unfair and uncalled for.
The hot food is awful. No flavor, really oily, and gives me a tummy ache. I tried it once when they first opened a few years ago and gave them a second try tonight, and it hasn't improved. It's so conveniently located, but I won't be going back.
hate it, order something in snackpass once i got there said they couldnt give me what I HAD ALREADY PAID FOR
