I recently worked with a Keller Williams realtor, Melanie Churilla, and my experience was deeply disappointing. Throughout my interactions with her, I felt dismissed, disrespected, and treated as though my concerns were not worth her time or attention. There were several moments where her comments and tone made me feel unwelcome, and I left many conversations with the impression that she judged who deserved her respect and who did not. Regardless of intent, her behavior created an environment that felt exclusionary and uncomfortable. Her conduct did not reflect the professionalism, integrity, or basic courtesy I expect from someone representing a large real estate brand. I hope Keller Williams takes feedback like this seriously, as no client should leave an interaction feeling marginalized or disregarded. *** Edit following response: My review reflects a real, firsthand experience. Labeling it as a misunderstanding or questioning the credibility of the reviewer does not address the substance of the concerns raised. What is particularly troubling is that this response mirrors how other negative reviews appear to be handled — by reframing client feedback as confusion, misperception, or error rather than considering whether there may be a recurring issue in how concerns are received and addressed. When multiple clients express similar dissatisfaction and the response is consistently to defend intent or reputation instead of engaging in self-reflection, it suggests a systemic problem rather than isolated misunderstanding. Professional integrity is demonstrated not by denying uncomfortable feedback, but by taking it seriously — especially when that feedback points to clients feeling dismissed, marginalized, or disrespected. A company’s values are revealed most clearly in how it responds to criticism, not praise. This review was shared in good faith to describe my experience and its impact. Attempts to discredit or minimize that experience only reinforce the concern that client feedback is not being meaningfully heard or examined within this organization.
The incredible team at Darryl Bodle Real Estate, part of Keller Williams Realty Portland Premiere is the BEST! From start to finish, Darryl and everyone on the team have been absolutely top-notch—professional, knowledgeable, responsive, and truly dedicated to getting the best results for their clients. In a competitive Portland market, nobody does it better. Their expertise, attention to detail, and genuine care make every deal smooth and stress-free. I couldn’t recommend them more highly! If you’re buying or selling in the area, this is the team you want in your corner.
*****After reading the brokerage's response, I just want to add that we never expected Kyndra to work without compensation. We offered $500 as per the early termination clause and we also said we were willing to negotiate that number to a higher amount based on the hours she worked. For the owner to say that they are owed compensation regardless of the outcome shows the culture at this brokerage. Even if they do a bad job, that results in losing a deal, you can't try with another agent. You're either stuck with them, responsible for possibly paying out double commission, or you lose your dream home. That doesn't seem fair or ethical. ************************************************************************************************************* I do not recommend working with Kyndra Lee at Keller Williams. Negotiations on the home we brought to her attention and put an offer on went cold before we were able to present our best offer. Separately, we found her to be unreliable. We traveled to Portland from Los Angeles twice based on her availability, and both times she altered the scheduled times at the last minute—once for a personal errand and once for a family event. Taken together, these issues led us to wanting a more experienced and reliable agent, hoping for a better chance at securing the home we truly wanted. What happened after we terminated representation was so disheartening. Although her efforts never resulted in a contract and negotiations had completely ended, she and her brokerage claimed they were entitled to the commission (up to $45K) if we decided to pursue the same home with another agent. $45,000 for a day and a half of showings and an offer that did not result in a purchase. Holding clients hostage in this way, especially after we made it clear we no longer wished to work with her, felt profoundly unfair. In the end, we ultimately decided to walk away from the property entirely. We didn’t want to enter a commission dispute, after all we’ve been through this year, and we certainly didn’t want that large sum of money to go to an agent that was treating us so poorly. Because she prioritized compensation over client experience, the end result was only that we didn’t get the home we loved. For added context, this was not just any home search. We lost our house in the Eaton Fire earlier this year in Los Angeles. This purchase, being made with our insurance money, was meant to be a fresh start after a devastating loss. Rather than compassion, we were met with rigidity and coldness from both Kyndra Lee and her principal broker, Joe Schafbuch. Watching the new season of Selling Sunset recently, it struck us how lovely the agents treated our fellow fire victims—even waiving commissions entirely. We weren’t looking for charity, but basic empathy and understanding would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, none of that was present in our experience with Kyndra Lee at Keller Williams.
I had a deeply disappointing experience with Keller Williams Realty Portland Premiere. The realtor I worked with proved to be untrustworthy and did not act in my best interest. At one point, she strongly suggested that I reconsider my …
I arrived during the noon hour, and I was very courteously met at the reception desk by the delightfully efficient receptionist (I am sorry, but I am terrible at remembering names after the first introduction) and Mark Scholz from "Portland Homes for Cars". The overall atmosphere is (to coin a phrase) "energetically friendly and efficient." Everyone moves with purpose, but with a friendly smile and swift but practical movement. If you need to consult a realtor, Keller Williams and Portland Homes for Cars definitely deserve to be at the top of your list.
