Kevin’s Noodle House

I had the chicken noodle soup and who it was amazing. It's the first time I've been to a Vietnamese restaurant that had the chicken noodle soup with chicken AND pork broth. I loved that it also had sliced pork and ground pork. Amazing soup and I will definitely be going back again. We also had an order of the chicken wings which were nice and crispy.

2025/12/6: Kevin's Noodle House was full at dinner time on a Friday night. I love how fast the food comes out if you order noodles, even with a full restaurant. We ordered #2 pho L $16.50, 2x #1 pho L $15.25, beef stew $15.75 and wings $15.25. Everything tasted fine. It is classic Kevin's, solid Vietnamese food, around $20 a person. We were all pretty full when we left. Although, it would have been nice if there was an Asian dessert place nearby but there wasn't. Some teens we were with wanted some crepe cake or milk tea. They are a no thrills Vietnamese pho restaurant not worthy of those click bait food social media food posts. That's what I like about them. The food is consistently good. I've been a fan of Kevin's pho since the early 2000's. This feels like a new restaurant without the slippery/sticky floors. It is not too loud either. The restaurant was full at dinner time, 6:30pm on a Tuesday. The staff here is more attentive than their Westlake or Pacifica location. The food comes out fast and my water was re-filled a few times. Tonight, I ordered their #2, pho dac biet bo vien M $14.25 substituted with egg noodles. The #2 is better than #1 because it comes with beef balls. Plus with the #2, you get an option to get a small or medium whereas the #1 is just large. My bi cuon, shredded pork roll with fish sauce appetizer $12 was OK. Needs peanut sauce.

Went to dinner around 6 pm. There was no line to wait in and we got seated right away. Very clean and not crowded. Prices were very reasonable compared to other places nearby. The soup was very clear and everything was very delicious and the portions were very good.

Kevin's Noodle House is the proverbial new kid on the block on Grand Avenue, and it has stepped right into direct competition with Ben Tre. It honestly feels like two local titans going head to head for neighborhood pho supremacy. That said, I personally prefer Kevin's. I definitely have a soft spot for it since I grew up going to their other locations, and this one delivers that same familiar comfort. The food hits the spot, the flavors are consistent, and it feels dependable in the way a good noodle house should. The space is clean and modern, and service has been friendly and efficient every time I have been. They renovated this building quite well. Ben Tre is still a strong option and longtime favorite for many, but Kevin's feels a little more my speed. One little quirk I noticed about the waiters - none of them write down orders. They are very good and always get it right. I am glad they opened here, and I will keep coming back.

This is a new branch of an old pho place in the Bay Area. I'm actually quite happy it opened up in SSF. There really aren't that many decent pho places in the peninsula compared to the South Bay but pho is usually not worth it enough for me to drive down for it alone. The place is really big and I'm glad they don't crowd the tables where you can touch elbows to the people next door. The service is quick and very good for a pho place. I can tell the workers including the Mexicans seem to be fairly upbeat and that's usually a good sign. I also like that they do send you the check and take the payment from you instead of having you pay at the cashier like many South Bay pho places. They also don't have the annoying payment system where they are breathing down your neck when you have to choose how much tips to give. The pho itself is decent. The soup does feel artificial but good enough for a quick pho fix. I wish they give more meat but good enough and the price is decent. I tried both #2 special and the seafood pho and once again I wish they put more stuff in the seafood pho but it's not less than other places just I wish for more stuff (not noodles). Overall it's decent and I'm giving it 4 stars even though I think the pho is only 3 stars.
