My partner and I visited Lardo while we were in Portland and we had such a great experience! The place was very welcoming and had such a fun, relaxed atmosphere. I ordered the Obama Burger, and it was so tasty! The burger was full of flavor and definitely did not disappoint. We also ordered the Lardo Fries, and they were delicious. The fries were topped with fried herbs and Parmesan cheese which gave them so much extra flavor and made them really unique. Everything came out fresh, and we really enjoyed our meal. Overall, Lardo was a great find and I would definitely recommend it if you're visiting Portland. I would love to come back again.

Four of us went on a Friday evening for dinner. First, the good things... Even with a long line, it moved quickly and they got the order exactly right. There was no wait for seating. There was lots of seating, inside and out, even at a busy time. The food is unique and homemade. The selection is enough to provide variety but not try to provide too many options and do it poorly. Now the downsides ... The wait time for food (sandwiches and fries) was long. Both inside and outside seating had loud music blasting and any conversation had to be yelled. There only seemed to be two guys without the front (taking orders, serving drinks, and delivering food) not enough for a busy Friday night. The food, though fresh and unique, wasn't exceptional. The smash burgers weren't smashed and crispy, but they dripped grease on the serving paper. The fries were cold which made them more like crunchy packing peanuts instead of delicious, crispy fries. The amount of mustard on the burger was exceptional - which is not a good thing. The prices were on the high end for a burger, fries, and diet Coke. Overall, I'm glad we tried out Lardo's. I probably won't go there again. There are other BBQ places and sandwich places to try for the same price or cheaper, with possibly better food.

We stopped into Lardo over the weekend for lunch. I was a little discouraged with the lack of a gluten-free bread option, but they and a great salad with fries alternative. I got THE CPR - fried chicken thigh, crispy pepperoni cups, iceberg wedge, red onions, with ranch. They use gluten-free batter for the fried chicken so I was really excited to try it. They served it with large lettuce leaves to make a lettuce wrap. It was really good. The fries and salad were also really good. The fries had parmesa which was great. My wife got the Obama Burger- double smash burgers, aged cheddar, lettuce, tomato, pickles, yellow mustard, toasted brioche. She said it was good but had too much mustard. I also tried it (without the bun) and thought it was good. It tasted like a berger of the backyard grill, which is great teast of summer for me. The outdoor seating is nice. The music over the door was a little too loud and we noticed people sitting, than moving away as tables opened. They might have the music up because there is also some road noise. Everything was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Over a decade ago, when I first landed in Oregon, my new friend had introduced me to Lardo. I have fond memories of the pork shoulder and kimchi sandwich, so for many years I touted it as a 'must try' amongst my peers. Even with that …

40 minute wait at 2pm. Tuna melt was kinda dry. Lots of pickled veggies. The best thing was the tots. The $7 non alcoholic slushy was tasty but about half the size it should have been. Paid 18% tip to bus our own table. Overhyped IMHO.
