Sign in to reviewUsed to be my go to place for donuts for years. I absolutely use to love this place. Seems like they sold the place in the last couple months. I had been coming in and noticed a different set of staff each time. Donut quality is not the same. Strong odor of old oil. Less options. Notable size diffence. Price increases. Unapproachable staff. Overall atmosphere is not the same. Hopefully changes are made to bring back the feel of the old owners and taste.
Thank you for the greeting as I entered. I learned to not choose a pastry unless it is on a full tray. The one I pointed to must have been the last one. It was hard, did not taste fresh. I should have trashed it, bought something else. Then came the shaming comment of my poor breakfast choice! Really, you would say that to a customer? Then I remembered odd comments the last time in there. This is no way to start your day, a poor experience.
Friendly staff and quaint shop. The food was where things went wrong.. the chocolate donut was fine.. nothing special. I also got a cheese and berry danish but something was majorly off. Turns out the berry filling was spoiled! It was awful biting in to that! I didn’t get around to the cheese filling after that. I arrived about half an hour after they opened. So it became clear it wasn’t fresh. I can’t describe a circumstance where it’s acceptable for a food service business to sell spoiled food! Very low chance I’ll be going back there.
Good doughnuts, not quite as good as Bob’s in the city, but better than average doughnut, and very friendly service, and clean and convenient to get to space. Nice variety of doughnuts. 🍩 …
What the heck happened? I’ve been going to Lee’s donuts for years and for the first time after several years the taste and texture has changed, so of course I had to change my review. It not light and fluffy like they usually are. It was dense, doughy, and hard. I’ve literally never had one of their donuts that tasted like this. Very disappointed and will be trying other donut places to find my perfect donut because it’s not Lee’s anymore. Go back to the old recipe please the new recipe sucks. I literally complained the entire time I ate the batch today, felt like I had to choke it down because I paid for it, but it was so bad I threw away half my donut, I couldn’t finish the donut it was that bad, and my boyfriend also didn’t want it because it’s that bad. SO DISAPPOINTED.
