Lucky is an established grocery store at 22555 Mission Blvd in Hayward, California, serving people along the Mission Boulevard corridor and the 94541 area. It holds a 4-star rating from 1,277 reviews, giving local shoppers a substantial set of customer experiences to consider. For anyone looking for a grocery store in Hayward, CA, the location is suited to routine food shopping, a pantry restock, or a stop for a few needed items. Customer comments describe a store carrying both food and non-food products, so a single visit can cover several everyday errands. The Mission Boulevard address also places it among the daily shopping choices for residents who prefer staying close to home.
Reviews point to a broad, practical assortment rather than one narrowly defined specialty. Shoppers mention good items, sale prices, and an inventory that has almost everything they need across grocery and general household categories. The deli is the clearest service area discussed: reviewers recall buying sandwiches and drinks there at good prices, making it a useful option for a quick lunch, snack, or beverage during a larger shop. Prepared deli food, including sausage, also appears in feedback. These details make Lucky relevant for Hayward customers combining groceries with simple ready-to-eat purchases. Its mix suits shoppers who value convenience and price-conscious browsing.
The setting is best understood as a working neighborhood supermarket for Hayward households, students, and people picking up essentials while moving through the area. Lucky opens at 6:00 AM every day, which can help early shoppers work errands around a job or class schedule. Hours continue until 10:00 PM from Monday through Thursday, then extend to 11:00 PM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Those later weekend hours provide added flexibility for an evening grocery run, drinks, deli purchases, or last-minute household items. It can serve a small top-up trip as readily as a more complete weekly list.
Customer feedback also offers a candid perspective. Some visitors praise the customer service, selection, and sale items, while others report limited staffing, a lack of shopping carts early in the day, and concerns about lighting or cleanliness outside. One deli review described cold food and burnt sausage, as well as an order request that was not followed. Experiences may differ by department and time of visit; customers focused on prepared food or carts may wish to check before completing their shopping. Overall, Lucky remains a practical Hayward grocery option defined by its broad everyday inventory, deli mentions, sales, and early-to-late operating schedule.

Sign in to reviewThis rating is based entirely on food I purchased from the deli. The food was cold and the sausage was burnt! End of story. Also, I asked the female deli clerk to Not give me any ends on the sausage and she did just that! Im So glad I only needed a snack, as I was waiting on my hubby to take me to lunch. He was stuck in traffic! June 5, 2026. 12:44 pm.
This store has good items and on sale too. Used to come here a lot while attending college at East Bay a while back. Purchased a lot of their sandwiches and drinks for some good prices. There are not a lot of employees at the store which can make the store feel a little to daunting and the lights can be low on some aisles. You'll find what you need.
8am and no shopping carts. Left and went to safeway instead. They had carts btw. How are you gonna be open for 2 hours and not have carts? Outside is very dirty and shady too. Looks like when you have a contract with the city where you know you'll never shut down, I guess that means you get to do whatever you want right? There's often no cashiers in the morning either and you sometimes have to wait 5 mins for someone to come. Looks like this is what you can get away with in cooperate america. I can not wait for the generic response where nothing will be done despite false promising of saying they will.
The best customer service and almost have everything you need food and none food items.
Very disappointed.Drove from Oakland to come to this Lucky to purchase Flash food. When arrived at store. They self cashiered out Christine The manager said she can’t find the keys to the Flash food.I ask her the other Manager took the keys home she replied Yes.This is such a great program but the workers don’t want to work. I am very disappointed about this.
