LUXE NAIL BAR at Temple University is a nail salon at 1600 N Broad St Unit, Philadelphia, PA 19121, serving customers in Philadelphia, PA. Its location near Temple University makes it a practical option for students, university-area residents, and others looking for nail care along North Broad Street. The salon has a 4.4-star rating from 380 reviews, offering prospective customers a broad set of local experiences to consider as they decide whether it suits their needs.

Customer feedback highlights careful shaping and attention to detail as reasons some guests return. One reviewer praised Linda for taking her time and making sure the nails were shaped just right, while another appreciated Tiffany’s patience in understanding a requested nail shape. Dip services are also mentioned positively: a first-time guest said the technician did a good job with the dip method. These accounts point to a salon that may appeal to people who value clear communication about shape, finish, and technique before a service begins.

Reviews also describe a welcoming experience, with customers mentioning kind behavior and satisfaction with how their nails looked. The feedback suggests the salon can be a comfortable choice for a first visit or a routine appointment, especially for someone who wants to explain a preferred shape and have the technician pay close attention to the details. Manicure-related nail work, dip applications, and pedicures appear in customer accounts, so guests can use those examples when asking what service is available for their visit.

Experiences are not uniform, however. Some reviewers describe inconsistency between visits, and one account raises concerns about a rushed service and an unprepared pedicure station. Other critical feedback describes dissatisfaction with how a service was handled. As with any salon, it is sensible to explain preferences clearly, confirm the requested service and price before starting, and speak up if something does not feel right. The mix of positive and negative reports gives a more balanced picture than relying on any single review.

Linda is amazing!! Book her! I've been to her twice now, and my nails always come out beautiful. She takes her time and goes above and beyond to make sure they're perfectly shaped. Would highly recommend!

This was my first time at this salon and I had an incredible experience! My nail tech was Tiffany and she was very sweet and has great attention to detail. She took the time to understand my nail shape and trimmed and filed exactly the shape I wanted. I requested a dip method and she did a great job layering and not making the nails feel too thick. She also waxed my brows and they look nice and sharp! She did everything for just $55 total and under 2 hours.

This salon has been very inconsistent. My first visit was great, but each experience after that declined. On my most recent visit, the service felt rushed and unprofessional. The pedicure station wasn't prepared when my friend and I were seated, the bowl nearly overflowed, and many important steps like nail shaping and trimming were skipped entirely. The massage was minimal, and overall attention to detail was lacking. What made the experience especially unpleasant was being repeatedly pressured to upgrade to gel polish because I was wearing sneakers. This was mentioned multiple times and felt more like shaming than upselling. Especially because I have gotten this service done here before successfully, while wearing sneakers. After the pedicure, my nail technician bumped into my toe without acknowledging it, and my drying fan wasn't turned on until I pointed it out. When I left a smaller tip due to the poor service, the technician made a condescending comment about it. To make matters worse, my gel French manicure began chipping within 48 hours. Based on my last experience, I won't be returning.

Now I’m not one to leave a negative review but life happens. I was a NEW customer on today. I came in very respectful and tried to adhere to the rules they had about paying before service (which is crazy) but was told not to. Not a problem. I was serviced by Danny. As he’s doing my feet I specifically asked him how my heels look and he said “they look good”. I asked because he didn’t use the grate so I then thought ok I guess I didn’t need it until I looked and seen the dead skin still in my heels. He then said you have to ask for that and it’s a $7 up charge. Again I’m a new customer. I wasn’t handed a menu. I then get ready for my nails and I asked for overlay. As he’s laying the foundation I could already see I wasn’t going to be satisfied. I had to ask him was he going to file my nails because they were jagged. I told I wasn’t satisfied then it was attitude shift as if I wasn’t the paying customer. I showed him various pictures from my previous overlay styles I had. Someone else came over and throws to compare over to tips/ acrylic as if I didn’t know the difference. Tried to charge me for a full set which I DONT HAVE, asked him to remove the thinly applied overlay and he burned me. THEY DONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ME RETURNING!!!
