I needed a gift for my pastor and so I went into the store and found exactly what I was looking for. It looked like I was in a hobby lobby. I didn't know that they were sister stores. It had many of the things that hobby lobby has plus much more selection of Christian items. I will definitely be going back. When I got to the checkout there were two ladies that were praying about something I found this very heartening and increased the joy that I had from the whole experience.
This place is dangerously good lol. I went in just to get my bibles engraved and walked out with more stuff lol. Bonus is that everything was 40 or 50% off and it's for Jesus! Can't go wrong.
Update 2/26/2026: was looking for audio Bible and visited Mardel on this day. Walked in and saw Amber. She greeted me and pointed 👉 me in the right direction and immediately requested assistance in Bible section over PA system 👍! When I got there, Joshua, was walking 🚶♀️ towards me, was able to show me the possible selections. Chose NASB audio CD 💿. Found another couple of items on the way to checkout! Amber was now at the register helping customers! A great day! Found what I wanted and then some! 5-star rating in my book!♥️♥️♥️ After not being able to buy what I set out to buy, I "googled" nearest English Christian bookstore and Mardel popped up. Well, it is further south than what I planned on traveling, but thought, "Why not?" Turned car around and headed south. Google maps got me where I wanted to go in a timely manner. Took my usual pictures, but when I walked through the main entrance doors was overwhelmed at how big this store is! (Will have to go back and get some inside shots). The lay out is good and aisles very navigateable. Clean, clean, clean! I, however, was on a mission and didn't want to do a lot of browsing and get myself off track! (I do that sometimes 😁) I per happenstance found Bibles that were on sale for 50% off AND in the ESV version I was looking for!!! Thank you, Jesus! I loaded up my cart with some extra items, headed towards the register when my eye caught CeCe Winans "Believe For It" CD!!! Yeah!!! It landed in my cart as well.😁 I was one happy camper to be able to get what was on my list and a little something something!!!😊 Definitely will go back, but make sure I have time to browse!😉😁
They had a great selection of stuff, not that many catholic bibles though and the store felt pretty empty. Overall, they had good prices.
Been going here 9 years for homeschool supplies and books. Only to come in to find out there no longer catering to homeschool families, won't have no more curriculum due to "cooperate decision". As big as Houston is, now the only place left is North Houston.
