Mẹ Viet Kitchen is a Vietnamese restaurant at 2524 E Franklin Blvd A in Gastonia, NC. It serves familiar Vietnamese favorites, with pho among the dishes customers mention most. For people in Gastonia looking for a local place to enjoy Vietnamese food, the menu offers a practical starting point: choose a bowl of noodle soup, explore different meat options, or consider a banh mi. The restaurant is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., making it an option for lunch or dinner throughout the week.

Pho is a signature draw, though customer experiences vary. Reviewers describe bowls as generous, with a selection of meats such as brisket, filet, and meatballs; one diner also found the broth well seasoned. Other visitors have felt the soup was bland or that the broth did not meet their expectations, and opinions differ on the texture and preparation of the meat. These contrasting impressions are useful context for anyone deciding what to order: pho is a central part of the restaurant’s appeal, but it may not taste the same to every guest. If you have a particular preference for spice, ingredients, or preparation, it may be worth confirming your request when ordering.

Banh mi is another option mentioned by diners, with one review calling it okay but not especially distinctive. The feedback overall is mixed: some customers value the authentic Vietnamese cooking and say the pho is worth trying, while others have been disappointed by a dish, its ingredients, or the experience of their visit. Mẹ Viet Kitchen has a 4.4-star rating from 975 reviews, a broad response that reflects many diners’ experiences rather than a guarantee of what any one visit will be like. Reading recent feedback and asking staff about menu details can help set expectations.

The restaurant may suit diners who want to explore Vietnamese food in Gastonia, especially those interested in pho and familiar noodle-soup combinations. One reviewer says the restaurant can accommodate peanut and shellfish allergies depending on the dish. Because ingredients and preparation can vary, guests with allergies should speak directly with staff before ordering and confirm what is safe for them. Diners who are particular about spice level or substitutions may also want to communicate those needs clearly.

At 2524 E Franklin Blvd A, Mẹ Viet Kitchen is easy to locate on East Franklin Boulevard and serves guests every day from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Whether you are stopping in for a bowl of pho, trying a banh mi, or looking for a Vietnamese restaurant in Gastonia, the most useful approach is to check the menu and share any preferences with the staff. Customer opinions are not uniform, but the restaurant’s Vietnamese dishes and all-week schedule make it a local option to consider for a casual meal.

$19.95 for a bowl of pho. Brisket, filet and meatballs. Not much of anything. Filet was chewy, brisket was fatty. Had 2 combo pho and a combo vermicelli plus 1 coffee for. $87. Will drive to Pho Hua in Charlotte next time. The old lady was rude to 2 customers telling them she was busy. Perhaps it’s her English but they way she said it was not very nice/friendly. How I miss the real Vietnam. All this would have costed me $5.

Average at best, pho looks bland, nothing special and for the $18 -20 price tag per bowl, the broth taste artificial and full of msg. . I would skip it! The Banh mi is ok but nothing special , I would NOT go back for…WEIRD SEATING OR AVERAGE FOOD. we couldn’t even finish the one bowl of their pho n a Banh mi cause it so good 🫪(there maybe fake reviews on their feed to bring it past 4star…don’t be fool, I am Vietnamese and this joint didn’t pass the bar.

Quality, AUTHENTIC Vietnamese cuisine. What more can I say? We've been looking for this kind of authenticity since we moved back to the area. Also, they are able to accommodate for peanut and shellfish allergy. Just depends on the dish you get. Highly recommend the pho!!! Only con I will say is that it is very expensive. I've had better quality for less price. But definitely worth a try. Also service was a little rude and kinda emotionally absent.

Really disappointed. I ordered shrimp pho and there were zero shrimp in the bowl—so what was the extra charge vs only noodle pho even for? I also requested level 0 spice, but it still came out spicy. The noodles didn’t match the photos at all, and overall the dish looked nothing like what’s advertised. On top of that, they nickel and dime you for everything—charging extra for basics like basil and hoisin sauce is ridiculous. They didn’t even include utensils with my takeout—I had to go back and ask. Overall felt very misleading. Shrimp pho without shrimp says it all. Probably won’t be back.

I like discovering Vietnamese places will traveling. For Me Viet, decent and large bowl of pho. Broth well seasoned but not as clear as some places. Meat options were good, would say that the it was sliced a bit too thick and fully cooked upon arrival. Otherwise, pho hit the spot. Easy to find and park in shopping center
