Mee Sum Pastry ended up being one of our favorite food stops at Pike Place Market during our family trip to Seattle. My wife ordered the curry beef and curry chicken hom bows on both our Pike Place day and our aquarium day, and she loved them. This was honestly one of her food highlights of the entire trip. My mother-in-law also tried the hom bows and really enjoyed them too. The line moved quickly when we went, and the prices felt reasonable for Pike Place Market. We ate at a nearby table one day, and another time we took them back to our hotel and microwaved them later. They held up well and were still enjoyable that way. Coming from Hawaii, they reminded us a little of manapua, but bigger, with a slightly sweet bun and a kind of crystallized sugar texture on the outside. Our 3-year-old daughter tried some but did not really care for it, so this was more of an adult favorite for us. Overall, this was delicious, convenient, and memorable. We would definitely come back next time we visit Pike Place.

This is one of those iconic spots at Pike Place Market that always seems to have a line, but thankfully it moves pretty quickly. We ordered the curry beef bun and the chive shrimp dumpling, and both were delicious. Everything came out hot and fresh, with balanced flavors that didn’t feel overly heavy or greasy. The standout for us was definitely the curry beef bun. The filling was flavorful, well-seasoned, and paired perfectly with the soft bun. Overall, a great stop if you’re exploring Pike Place and looking for a quick bite. Delicious food, fast service, and easy to see why it’s so popular. We’ll definitely be back for more.

5/15/2026 Very low key place nice staff very helpful. I ordered the crab rangoon they were large and very fill it wasn't quiet my flavor it wasn't nasty i just didn't like the texture of the filling I'm used to it being smooth when i get it from other places not grainy. My mother ordered the chicken bun i think but unfortunately she wasn't able to eat it because she ate so much other food beforehand she didn't have any room for it

I stopped by Mee Sum Pastry for breakfast while exploring Pike Place Market. The line was short in the morning, which made it easy to grab food quickly. The menu had a nice variety of savory and sweet options. I decided to try the BBQ pork bun and the crab rangoon. The BBQ pork bun was absolutely awesome and easily the highlight of my visit. The bun was soft, fresh, and packed with flavorful filling. It was warm, satisfying, and perfect for a quick breakfast. Unfortunately, the crab rangoon did not live up to the same standard. The filling lacked flavor and was a bit disappointing. The prices were reasonable, especially considering the location inside Pike Place Market. My only other criticism is that the staff could have been a little friendlier. Even so, I would return for the BBQ pork bun alone and would recommend giving it a try.
