Serving South King County from its convenient location on 104th Ave SE, Minh Tam's Market is an authentic, independent grocery store in Kent, WA dedicated to bringing traditional Southeast Asian flavors into local home kitchens. For home cooks looking to recreate authentic homestyle meals, this neighborhood market offers a direct connection to familiar tastes and hard-to-find cultural staples. Rather than navigating a giant generic supermarket, shoppers visit here to find regional specialties that define traditional Vietnamese family dining.

The produce section is a key attraction for regular shoppers seeking fresh, aromatic herbs and specialty produce. Fresh basil, cilantro, mint, culantro, and bundled stalks of lemongrass line the shelves, providing the vital aromatics needed for simmering weekend pots of phở, crafting fragrant marinades, or assembling fresh spring rolls. In addition to essential cooking greens and vegetables, Minh Tam's Market frequently features beloved tropical fruits that are rarely found in mainstream American supermarkets. Depending on the season, visitors can discover fresh jackfruit, sweet rambutan, and other seasonal imports that evoke memories of street markets back home.

Beyond fresh produce, the aisles are packed with specialized pantry goods, imported dry ingredients, and ready-to-eat prepared dishes. Home chefs can easily stock up on their favorite brands of fish sauce, rice noodles, specialty flours, dried mushrooms, teas, and distinctive spice blends. A dedicated deli area provides convenient prepared food options for busy weekdays, offering customers warm, comforting meals and savory snacks ready to take home after a quick shopping run.

Visitors should expect the cozy, unpretentious atmosphere of a classic, tightly packed Asian neighborhood market. The layout is compact and dense, with shelves filled to the brim with inventory and produce thoughtfully pre-portioned into convenient bundles. Because it operates as a traditional independent grocery rather than an expansive corporate chain, shoppers who appreciate taking their time to inspect labels and discover hidden pantry gems will feel right at home here. The market is open seven days a week, welcoming shoppers from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM daily.

Whether you are hunting for seasonal tropical fruit, picking up bundles of herbs for an authentic weekend feast, or grabbing a quick bite from the deli counter, Minh Tam's Market remains a dependable local destination. It proudly serves the Kent, WA community as an accessible, everyday culinary resource for anyone passionate about rich Southeast Asian food traditions.

Great selection of ethnic ingredients and specialty items, especially for Vietnamese cooking. A reliable spot for authentic products and fresh herbs.

They have great fresh vegetables and fruits, especially fresh fruits that you don't find at other markets. I came for the deli food and rambutan and Jack fruit.

They sell expired products and I unluckily bought one bag of tea expired last year. Please carefully check the date before buying 😔 …

Standard Asian food market. Most of the produce has been bundled and bagged, so selecting individual items is not possible. I only wanted two stems of lemongrass for less than a dollar, but had to buy a $3 bundle of six or seven instead.

The "bad" /(you decide)? 1)Feels claustrophobic. If you are used to brightly lit, large and labelled aisles, everything stacked perfectly etc etc ..(you know, like Fred Meyer, Safeway) then you will be put off or overwhelmed by this store. Everything looks like it is stacked and put together as you go. This store actually reminds me of " local grocery store" growing up in Malaysia--each almost a mini-mart, but with fresh produce and fresh meat/seafood. 2)The "smell" That is not unusual when you try to pack EVERYTHING into a size of what a regular chain store's produce section usually is. Also, they have a lot of specialty items from dried/preserved food to non -local fresh tropical fruits that may produce "smells". (Fresh Durian anyone??) 3) Expired/no expiration date on food. Ok. Do you know that except for baby formula, United States DO NOT have any firm rule for these "dates"? They are created by the manufacturer of the foods. Check this fact if you don't believe me. If it doesn't look good/you are not sure, don't buy it! 5 stars are because of these reasons. 1)Have specialty items that NO ONE ELSE carries such as snacks and sweets from Thailand. 2)Huge selection of tropical fruits.
