If you are looking for real authentic Thai food in Boston, this is NOT the place. Perhaps because there was a show at the wilbur and eve of St. Patrick Day but this place was below par. The service was the best they could do as it was a full house in the dinning area and at the bar, but there were only 4 staff at the establishment-2 servers, someone at the bar and the other was the hostess who did all the odd & ends. Service was extremely slow and non existent taking over 25 minutes to be served soup & an additional 10 minutes for our meal. I've had plenty of seafood drunken noodles and what I was served was not it. Thai drunken noodles is supposed to be bold, spicy flavor, vegetables, and a savory sauce. Despite the name, the dish I was served was BLAND. No flavor, no sauce, seafood not even a hint of salt, it was not enjoyable. The crispy chicken with tempura veggies were served cold like it had been sitting on the counter for over 20 minutes. By the time we got our meal, the tempura veggies were soggy, the chicken was cold mixed in with sweet sauce on the bottom and the canned pineapple didn't serve the dish with justice. The sauce helped the meal giving it some flavor to the food. The only saving grace was the tum yum soup. Overall, my experience left me hungry and dissatisfied. They offer a 5% difference on card vs cash and a guaranteed 18% tip already included on the bill.
Montien Thai is a wonderful place with excellent food, warm service, and a very comfortable atmosphere. The flavors are authentic, fresh, and well balanced. We really enjoyed the overall dining experience with family. A great spot in Boston for Thai food, and definitely worth visiting again. Highly recommended!
This was a hidden find. Was walking around hungry on a cold Boston night. We all were craving for hot nice food… Thai is always a good option. We were seated right away. My family ordered some cocktails and mocktails. And we started with tom yum soup. The food was nice and warm. Chicken satay was sad. The Thai curries and pineapple fried rice was good. Service was a little slow. I would have appreciated if they let us add the gratuity. 20% was already added.
Cozy seating, good food and good selection of drinks as well. We have basil fried rice and drunken noodles. Portion size is good. Fried chicken on side was banger. I’d have appreciated if they’d let us add gratuity, it was already added
Loved it. Lots of GF options too! We got Thai tea, pad Thai, red curry, and coconut soup. It was all so fresh and delicious. Service was SO kind and didn’t wait long at all. Def recommend!!!
