Nail Today

Had to fly into Oakland for work and wanted to treat myself to a manicure and pedicure after spending days walking around the city. I found Nails Today through Google because of their positive reviews and the fact that they advertised walk-ins. My coworker and I went in and asked if they had time for a manicure and pedicure. We were told yes, and they even cleaned and prepared two pedicure stations for us. However, almost immediately afterward, we were repeatedly told they didn’t have time for us and that we needed to come back later. We apologized multiple times and even offered to leave, but they insisted we sit down and began our services while continuing to lecture us about needing appointments. The entire interaction felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. The situation became even more awkward when they told my coworker he could only get clear polish while I could get a cat-eye design. When he asked if he could also get cat-eye, he was bluntly told, “No. You get clear.” At that point, we no longer felt comfortable receiving services. They had only removed our old polish and done some basic cuticle cleanup. We respectfully asked them to stop and requested to pay for the work completed. We were then charged $88 and told to leave a cash tip. I’ve never felt so unwelcome in a salon. My coworker and I both left feeling uncomfortable with how we were treated. If you’re not a regular customer or local to the area, this may not be the most welcoming place to visit.

Came here before for a pedicure and had a great experience. But this time left my nails damaged and thin from drilling too much. You can see the ridges in my nails. And damaged my cuticle just cutting randomly. I won’t be back

I got a mani and pedi here for my first time last week (no polish because that is my preference lately) and they did a really good and thorough job of clipping cuticles, and filing my nails, also great hand and foot massage included in service! The nail shape was perfect, and my cuticles were left looking perfectly neat! My nails were left feeling so clean and they looked so pretty. I am really pleased with my experience, and will definitely be back! Also, a plus was that I was able to book on the same day! Nail salon is a quiet and relaxed environment.

this place is fantastic. everyone is so lovely and friendly. we have been coming for years because my daughter is prone to getting ingrown nails on her big toes. and they are sweet and caring and kind taking care of her. and they do such a good job. and coming regularly has helped keep her from getting them. Diane or Tia usually do her pedicure. Diane helped her today. She was just fantastic. Vicky does my gel manicure and it's the best, always. Tina does my pedicure and she is so thorough, and the foot and calf massages are to die for. my gel manicure, removal of old gel included, plus french tips added, and a regular pedicure is only $60 for everything. we feel like family there. and they are like that with everyone. love this place!

Best nail salon in the east bay! The whole staff is friendly and they do top notch acrylics and pedicures. I always leave feeling refreshed. my acrylics last a really long time, not like some places where you need a fill every 2 weeks. They do such a good job here!!
