Neptune Submarine Sandwiches is a longtime-style sandwich shop in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at 3301 N Classen Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73118. Its Classen Boulevard location is known to local customers as a place for submarine sandwiches, familiar flavors, and a distinctly old-school Oklahoma City feel. The building’s memorable 1960s look is part of what catches the eye from the road, while the menu keeps the focus on straightforward subs and other casual favorites. With a 4.5-star rating from 1,020 reviews, Neptune draws a range of opinions and experiences, so visitors can choose based on the dishes and details that matter most to them.

One sandwich highlighted by customers is the Super Sub, described as a simple, satisfying combination of Genoa salami, ham, Italian cheese, shredded lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, and Neptune’s special dressing. It offers a familiar deli-style profile for anyone looking for a substantial sub without a complicated list of ingredients. Customer feedback also mentions an Italian sandwich, though experiences with portion size and bread vary. For a warm, savory option, one reviewer called the Hot Links especially flavorful. These are useful examples of what people order, rather than a promise that every sandwich will suit every taste.

There are also sweet options: one customer specifically praised the banana pudding, making it worth noting for anyone who likes to finish a casual meal with dessert. Neptune’s can work for a quick lunch, an easy stop after work, or a relaxed meal with friends and family. The reviews describe customers using both the drive-through and in-person service, and one account recalls staff preparing sandwiches for guests who arrived close to closing time. Individual visits can differ, but that feedback gives a sense of the practical, neighborhood-oriented experience people associate with the shop.

For local residents and visitors exploring Oklahoma City, Neptune Submarine Sandwiches offers a recognizable alternative to national sandwich chains, with a long-established, homegrown character noted by customers. It may appeal to people who enjoy classic subs, want to try a Hot Link, or are curious about the Super Sub and banana pudding. The shop is open Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; it is closed Sunday. Check the current hours before visiting, especially around holidays, and consider the range of customer feedback when deciding what to order.

Neptune Submarine Sandwiches is one of those old-school Oklahoma City places that still feels like OKC. I stopped by the Classen location and had the Super Sub, and it was excellent. The sandwich is simple — Genoa salami, ham, Italian cheese, shredded lettuce, tomato, mayo and Neptune’s special dressing — but everything works together. The fresh bread really makes it. It’s incredibly soft without falling apart, and the dressing gives the sandwich a flavor you just don’t get from the national sandwich chains. There’s also something to be said for eating at a place that has been part of Oklahoma City for roughly 50 years. Neptune isn’t trying to reinvent the sandwich. They’ve figured out what they do well and keep doing it. The Super Sub was great, the bread was outstanding, and I’ll absolutely be back. If you’ve never tried Neptune’s on Classen, you should. Support the local places that give OKC some personality.

This will be my most honest review. I got his DoorDash and I got the Italian and banana pubbing. The sandwich had little meat and I wasn’t a fan of the bread. The banana pudding was amazing tho!

I remember back in the late 1970s or early 1980s when Neptune’s had a location in Edmond. I was an occasional customer. This was before Subway and the other big chains came along. I always thought their subs were just okay—not bad, but nothing special. Having moved here from New England, I was used to really good subs, so Neptune’s never quite measured up. I stopped by the Classen location yesterday—I believe it’s the original spot. I liked the vibe, and the price was reasonable at $4.99 for what I think was a six-inch sub. And the taste? Exactly the same as it was 40 years ago. Just okay.

I have driven by this cool looking 1960s yellow building 1000 times and finally went through the drive through today on my way home from work - The Hot Links were fantastic. SO much flavor. I have been talking about it all evening... kinda …

We came in a tad late in relation to closing time, they quickly made two subs for us that absolutely outweigh the subway across the street! So thankful for the dedication to these companies that keep it home-like! There is an Asian style sandwich place across the street (Classen) that is really good! I think these two restaurants offer a sandwich corner which can be a winning combo against the subway franchise. I had a chicken bacon ranch sub that was so good! The bread is cooked in house and doesn't upset me stomach (thanks Subway and your preservatives). Keep going, this place is a grwat place to get quality food, service and atmosphere!
