New Century Oriental Food Supermarket is a grocery store at 4500 N Tryon St, Charlotte, NC 28213, serving shoppers in Charlotte, North Carolina who are looking for ingredients and household cooking goods that can be difficult to find at a conventional supermarket. Customer reviews describe a large store with a broad assortment of sauces, vegetables, spices, noodles, and cooking items. For home cooks exploring Asian ingredients or restocking familiar pantry staples, the variety is a central reason shoppers mention making a visit. The store is open daily, Monday through Sunday, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., making it possible to plan a stop on a weekday or weekend.
Noodles stand out in customer feedback as a particularly extensive part of the selection, alongside sauces, vegetables, and seasonings for preparing meals at home. Reviews also mention fresh-looking fish and roast duck, as well as pork; these are customer observations rather than guarantees about current availability or quality. Shoppers seeking hard-to-find products may appreciate the range reported by visitors, while those looking for prepared food may want to ask in person what is available that day. The market also carries household cooking items, giving customers a chance to pick up kitchen-related essentials alongside groceries. Selection and stock can change, so checking products and labels as you shop is sensible.
The shopping experience described by customers is mixed. Some appreciate the size, variety, and access to products they do not usually see in a regular supermarket, and one reviewer described the store as clean despite finding the surrounding shopping center run-down. Other reviews raise concerns about expired products, unclear or missing price labels, checkout prices that differed from shelf tags, and aspects of the store’s condition. These reports are important context for first-time visitors. Check expiration dates and posted prices before checkout, and confirm an item’s price with staff if the tag is absent or does not match. Individual experiences vary, but the feedback suggests it is worth taking time to inspect purchases.
New Century Oriental Food Supermarket has a 3.7-star rating from 341 reviews, reflecting a range of customer experiences rather than a uniformly positive impression. It may suit shoppers who prioritize a wide selection of Asian grocery ingredients, noodles, specialty products, and cooking supplies and are comfortable checking stock and prices as they browse. It may be less suitable for customers who expect every product to have a clearly displayed price or want a consistently polished shopping environment, based on concerns shared in some reviews. For a practical visit, allow time to compare labels and verify prices, especially on items without clear shelf tags. The address is 4500 N Tryon St in Charlotte, and daily hours are 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Granted the store looked like they were waiting to be resupplied they still had a variety of sauces, vegetables, spices, and other products in the large store. They have an excellent selection of noodles to choose from and lots of household cooking items. Many of the items for sale needed to be checked and restocked if they had not already done so.
Had a lot of hard to find products. Fish looked very fresh and they have roast duck. Not the nicest store but it was clean and had a wide selection of all sorts of products you can't find in a regular supermarket.
Horrible atmosphere, expired products, and pricing is off. When we were checking out, three items rang up more than what was tagged and the cashier told us “it’s not that much more and that’s how it is.” Someone needs to inspect this place for the expired products and wrong prices.
Run down shopping center, prices not listed on many items, broken lights, out of order toilets. Dead fish in fish tank, bad smell, expired items. Avoid!
The roads duck and pork is the only good and decent thing out of this place because my family loves the food (though I'm a vegetarian). Everything else about the store is utterly disappointing (as it was many years ago). Expired products …
