New Meera Grocery- UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT is an Indian grocery store at 2825 Tyson Ave in Philadelphia, PA 19149. It serves shoppers looking for Indian groceries, including lentils and Indian spices, as well as people who enjoy cooking a range of cuisines at home. One customer describes the store as convenient to reach and appreciates its selection and prices, including for ingredients used in ethnic cooking. For nearby residents and home cooks exploring Indian ingredients, it can be a practical place to check for pantry staples without making a special trip across town.
The store’s focus is everyday grocery shopping rather than a sit-down dining experience. Customer feedback specifically mentions lentils and Indian spices, useful ingredients for stocking a home kitchen and preparing meals at your own pace. The available information does not identify individual brands, specific dishes, or a complete inventory, so shoppers looking for a particular sauce mix or specialty item may want to confirm it is in stock before traveling. Reviews differ on how full the shelves were during particular visits, which suggests availability may vary. That makes a quick check worthwhile when an item is essential to a planned meal.
The business is listed as under new management, and one returning customer says the change has uplifted the store. Another shopper mentions a visit where the store had not opened on time, while a separate review describes the selection and pricing positively. These experiences are not identical, and they reflect individual visits rather than a guarantee about every shopping trip. The listing shows a 4.2 rating from 169 reviews, offering a broad snapshot of customer feedback while leaving room for different expectations and experiences. The most useful approach is to visit with a flexible shopping list and ask staff for help locating products if needed.
New Meera Grocery is listed as open daily, Monday through Sunday, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Its address is 2825 Tyson Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19149, United States. I'm afraid our visit was disappointing, because my wife could not find the packaged sauce mixes that she had expected to be there. In fact, if I recall correctly, she felt that the shelves were unusually bare. We had driven some distance to get there, so perhaps it was just an off day, or supplies had not come in.
I have been to the store for the first time only a few weeks ago. It's very convenient location wise. I found the selection and pricing to be amazing. I am white, but I cook all kinds of ethnic foods and cook with a lot of lentils & Indian spices. Even though there was some language barrier for me, we were able to point to different words on products to communicate with each other. I am gluten free and they carry a lot of gluten free grains and flours. They were also getting in millet grain. I was delighted because I have had increasing difficulty finding millet & sorghum. I got some goodies for my husband which he loved. I have been in other Indian grocery stores where there were not prices on the items and sometimes I felt like they charged differently by what you looked like or if you spoke the language (and sometimes I definitely felt excluded). If an item was not priced, I asked and they were apologetic and honest about how much something cost. I felt very welcome there & will definitely be going back. My husband asked that I take him next time 💜. And open until 10 pm! I went during the day & I didn't have any trouble parking but I have seen others park in the shopping center right next to it and just walk there if you have a larger car. It's worth the trip!
Now we started Halal Meat as well inside the P&K groceries Chicken, Goat, Mutton, Lamb, Beef all products are certified Halal come and save time
Store didn’t open up on time when I came by. I was looking for just one item, and they had it, but apparently it’s a really cheap version that has sulfites in it. Parking is very small here can only fit 2 cars really. A lot of potential for the store but I think it feels bare minimum effort. Many shelves just empty. I actually thought it was shut down going up to it. They would benefit if they had an online presence.
Liked coming to this store after a long time, new management has really uplifted the store.
