Như Lan Restaurant is a Vietnamese restaurant at 1157 Dorchester Ave in Boston, MA 02125, serving customers in the Dorchester area. It has the feel of a neighborhood mom-and-pop spot, with a menu that includes Vietnamese sandwiches, iced coffee, rice noodle dishes, and familiar snacks. The available customer feedback is mixed, so it may suit diners who value a casual local stop and specific Vietnamese comfort foods more than a polished dining-room experience. Its listed hours are 9:30 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m.–8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, with Sunday hours of 9 a.m.–7:30 p.m.; hours can change, so confirm before visiting.

Several dishes stand out in customer comments. One diner enjoyed fried rice noodles with chopped fried tofu, describing the portion as reasonable and the dish as pleasantly light rather than oily or overly salty. They also liked the sweet soy-style sauce served with it. Another review praised the bread and braised beef, making that combination worth noting for anyone browsing the menu. Customers also mention Vietnamese sandwiches, including cold-cut and roast-pork options, as well as iced coffee. These details offer a practical sense of what people come for, while individual experiences may vary.

Như Lan also offers snack-style choices such as egg rolls and fried dough, though feedback on these items has not been uniformly positive. Some reviewers found certain snacks bland, and other comments describe disappointing visits or concerns about food freshness. The overall rating is 3.5 from 75 reviews, reflecting a range of experiences rather than universal praise. For visitors, that context can help set expectations: the restaurant is a straightforward neighborhood option, but customers may want to check the condition and freshness of their order and speak with staff promptly if anything seems off.

The atmosphere has been described as less appealing by at least one customer, while another appreciated the casual, mom-and-pop character. A review also notes spacious parking, which may be useful for people arriving by car, though parking conditions can vary. The setting may work for a quick meal, a sandwich and coffee stop, or a simple bite while running errands around Dorchester. Those looking for a particular dish can use the customer-mentioned fried rice noodles with tofu or braised beef with bread as starting points, keeping in mind that reviews reflect individual visits. Như Lan Restaurant is located on Dorchester Avenue and serves a broad mix of Vietnamese meals and snacks.

1. I'll come here again. “Moms and Pops” joint. 2. Atmosphere not the most appealing, but my Fried Rice Noodle with chopped up fried tofu was lovely. Not oily or tons of salt. Just Lovely to eat. The portion was reasonable. Their sweet soy something sauce with it was lovely. 3. This desert, which I didn't quite get it should be some Yuka desert. It was lovely too. Should it be warm or cool? Mine was room temperature. I like it too. I like it. Don't expect great service, but some engagement. I'm okay with it.

Very disappointing experience this morning. I don’t come here often, but whenever I have business in the Dorchester area, I usually stop by for Vietnamese sandwiches and iced coffee. This morning I bought cold cut sandwiches, a roast pork …

I don’t even know where to start with this restaurant… this place is going downhill fast. I stopped in to grab a few snacks and everything was a letdown. The egg rolls were bland and tasted like nothing but plain ground pork. The fried dough? Just blah no flavor at all. Then I saw this patty that looked like an empanada and thought I’d give it a try. Big mistake. It was stale, cold, and tasted like it had been sitting out forever. I used to love coming here, but honestly… I think I’ll stick to Ba La up the street from now on. Please throw all your old food away and stop selling it to customers!!!

Only review braised beef. The bread and braised beef are delicious. Spacious parking. Prices are not cheap.
