Exhibitions are a central part of the experience, with visitors mentioning a light-focused exhibit and works displayed across the building. One visitor especially enjoyed an outdoor exhibit, while another noted that gallery access can vary when a floor is closed or an exhibition is between presentations. The combination of exhibits and hands-on creative experiences makes Oklahoma Contemporary a thoughtful choice for a family outing in Oklahoma City.
The center also offers opportunities to learn through classes. One student praised a six-week course in Renaissance clothing and said the welcoming atmosphere made them eager to enroll again. That personal account suggests a setting where visitors can build practical creative skills alongside viewing art. It may suit adults seeking a structured class, families introducing children to art, and curious visitors who enjoy conversation and discovering new ideas. Programs and exhibitions change, so check current offerings when planning your visit.

What a treasure in our community. We went to the light exhibit today and it was free to get in! We absolutely loved the exhibit. Afterwards our son played in the light lab and had a blast. …
I have been taking one of the classes for the last 6 weeks and it's been really amazing. I love the atmosphere, it feels so pleasant and safe. My teacher right now is Martha Coates for making Renaissance clothing. I have enjoyed her class so much i am looking forward to enrolling in another class. If i can't get into Mrs. Coates class i will happily enroll in someone elses class.
This is the third year my grandchildren have come to camp at the Oklahoma contemporary arts center. The kids learned so much and come home each day happy and ready to go back. What a great way to introduce little ones to the world of art.
The 2nd floor was closed. There were a few things to look at on the first and third floor but not enough to make a trip just for those. Hoping to go back when the 2nd floor exhibit is open. The outside exhibit was my favorite part.
