Sign in to reviewI can always count on Onyx Nail Bar to provide amazing service. Because of their consistency I actually became a regular recently. The front desk staff is always professional and friendly. The nail techs carry themselves similarly while adding attention to detail and skill. For example in the photo below, all I asked for was lemon inspired nails and as always she exceeded my expectations.
I had a wonderful time here! 2.5 weeks later and my nails are still looking amazing. Ni was my nail tech and Loan took care of my pedicure. Super friendly and did a great job. I will definitely be back. Especially loved booking online through Vagaro. Made the process super easy!
I visited Onyx Nail Salon today for a pedicure with a French tip design. Initially, my experience was great, and I was happy with the service. However, after leaving the salon, I noticed that the white polish on one of my toes had smudged. I drove back about an hour later to have it corrected. When the technician fixed the nail, she only drilled off the white tip and reapplied it. I politely asked if the pink base could also be redone so the nail would match the others, and she agreed. Unfortunately, she proceeded to only redo the white tip and apply a clear top coat instead. What was most disappointing was feeling like I received rushed and careless service during the correction. If a customer returns shortly after an appointment because of an issue caused by the original service, they should receive the same level of care and attention as they did initially, not a half-done fix. I had another appointment to get to and didn’t have time to continue waiting for it to be properly corrected, so I left unhappy with the overall experience. (My nails now look grown out instead of fresh because the base color was not properly redone)
I have went to Onyx a few times for gel manicures with acrylic tips and was super happy at first with them lasting 4- 5 weeks. This past time going in my gel started lifting a week in but I was overseas. I called when I was back in town and asked what could be done (still less than 2 weeks into the gel manicure) and was told to come in so they could evaluate in person. Once I drove in I was told nothing could be done but a $38 polish change since it was after 72 hours and I didn’t document as well as they would have liked. She also tried to push a fill on me as well since my nails had grown out a bit. First off, anyone who’s ever gotten gel knows it shouldn’t be lifting after a week and spending over $60 for a fill. To be told to fix this issue that Onyx caused would cost over half of what I originally paid was EXTREMELY disappointing and not putting Customers first. Writing about my experience in hopes other people don’t waste their hard earned money on a place like this. FYI I went to a salon to fix my nails and got an add on polish and it was STILL cheaper than $38 that Onyx offered to fixed THIER issue. Please don’t spend your money here!!
I want to clarify several points because your response does not accurately reflect what actually happened. I changed my mind about the French tip design because it was done very poorly. The polish was wrinkled, and the finish looked bad. After seeing the result, I asked the technician to paint the entire nail white instead. If changing the design was going to result in an additional charge, the technician should have informed me before performing the service and before charging me. If I had not carefully reviewed my bill, I would have been charged for services that were not properly explained. I also want to completely deny your claim that I hit someone in the face. That is absolutely false and never happened. From the moment I sat down, Alice had a rude and unprofessional attitude. The gentleman who worked on my pedicure treated me respectfully and was kind throughout the service. The only issue was that he was unable to do the French tip design correctly. The translator was only used because I had questions about the service. During those interactions, Alice responded with a poor attitude. At one point, she grabbed my phone abruptly to use the translator and handled my hand roughly, as if she was annoyed that I was asking questions. Before making false accusations about a customer, I encourage you to properly investigate what actually happened and speak with your staff about providing respectful customer service. I simply expected quality work, honest billing, and professional treatment. It was my first and last time he fixed my nails here Alice fixed my fingernails He treated me badly He's a very hateful person To work in a bad mood When she took my hand to fix it, I took it in a bad way as if I were upset She was very rude Unfortunately, my experience was not good. I ordered a French design on the toenails, but the lines were crooked, uneven and slaned. In the end, the person who attended me could not make the design I requested and had to paint all my nails plain white. In addition, the enamel seemed to be in poor condition, since it was not applied evenly and the finish was not as expected. I left disappointed because I didn't receive the service I asked for or the quality I expected. I hope you can improve the technique and review the status of your products to prevent other customers from having the same experience. At the time of payment I also had an inconvenience. The invoice showed services that I never did and they were charging me several additional charges. I had to check the bill and explain to the receptionist that those services had not been done to me. Fortunately, she was very kind, checked everything and corrected the bill. I want to thank the receptionist for her excellent attention and for solving the problem with the charge. However, I think they should talk to Alice to improve her attitude and the attention she gives to customers. Overall, my experience was far below what I expected and, unfortunately, I would not return.
