Pacific Herbs & Grocery (AA Pacific Herbs) is a dedicated Chinese medicine store and herbal apothecary located along East Valley Highway in Kent, WA. Serving the diverse South King County community, this neighborhood shop offers an authentic selection of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) products, dried medicinal herbs, and specialty Asian grocery items. For residents seeking time-tested Eastern wellness solutions, herbal preventative care, or specific formulations prescribed by local acupuncturists and naturopaths, the store provides an accessible destination right off the highway. Rather than traveling into Seattle's Chinatown-International District, community members in Kent and neighboring cities can find essential botanical remedies close to home.
The shelves at this shop are lined with an extensive variety of raw herbs, prepared herbal extracts, patent medicines, and daily wellness teas. Whether you are searching for dried roots and barks to simmer into classic tonics, customized herbal combinations to alleviate seasonal ailments, or trusted packaged formulas, the inventory covers both foundational pantry essentials and specialized remedies. Customers frequently drop by to fill exact supplement recommendations recommended by holistic healthcare providers. The staff can help navigate the wide assortment of packaged botanicals and dried herbs, assisting customers in locating the exact items required for their home preparations and restorative soups.
In addition to stocking prepared remedies, Pacific Herbs & Grocery (AA Pacific Herbs) offers traditional wellness evaluations on site. Visitors looking for traditional consultations can connect with the in-house practitioner, who assesses bodily imbalances through conventional TCM methods and recommends tailored botanical formulas. While traditional herbal brews are famous for their strong, earthy flavor and unapologetically bitter taste, many patrons rely on these unrefined mixtures for their targeted therapeutic properties. For individuals seeking natural alternatives to conventional treatments, having experienced practitioners who understand holistic pulse and diagnostic methods remains a valuable neighborhood resource.
The atmosphere here reflects a pragmatic, classic herb dispensary. Depending on which staff member is on the floor, interactions can range from direct, no-nonsense service to patient and accommodating guidance. Knowing what specific formulas or ingredients you need beforehand can make your shopping trip smoother and more efficient. The storefront operates with dependable hours, welcoming visitors seven days a week from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, Monday through Sunday. Whether you are seasoned in traditional herbal decoctions or exploring natural remedies for the first time, this Kent shop stands as a steady resource for authentic traditional healthcare products in Washington.

The older woman who works here is incredibly curt and rude, even by Chinese standards. I absolutely avoid coming here unless absolutely necessary -- I'll take a detour to the ID if possible just to avoid this place and avoid getting barked at by the woman in question. If you speak Cantonese, I'd highly suggest doing so here, as you'll get treated better than if you speak English or Mandarin. Mandarin speakers who've been to Hong Kong know what type of treatment I'm talking about. The last time I was here, I tried telling her that I needed 5 parts of one ingredient to 1 part of another, and she assumed that I was telling her that I needed her to repackage it 5:1 rather than that I needed 5 *times* one ingredient to the other. (She was only grabbing two of everything I needed at a 1:1 ratio.) Her answer to me was that it was "你家的事", which is a rude way of saying "it's your problem." (It's a way of saying it that's not as overt as "it's your f-ing problem," but carries with it the same attitude and spirit.) The second she said that, I dropped it, as I she obviously didn't want to make 5x the profit as much as I didn't want to give her 5x more of my hard-earned dollars. My tab final tab totaled over $100, so it was her loss. When I realized that I forgot to purchase ginseng, I went to the 99 Ranch Market next door rather than deal with her again, and when I came back out, I saw them closing up shop. She may have been annoyed because I came in close to closing. Regardless, I still spent less than 10 minutes in the store and I was not the last customer in the shop Incredibly rude. Incredibly crass. Foul mouthed, and even fouler attitude. Even my husband who doesn't understand any Chinese asked me what the hell her problem was.
The man who took care of my order was very nice and he had everything I was looking for, if this store was closer I'd be there weekly
Everyone is always kind and knowledgeable. I love how the doctor knows exactly what issues you are having just by examining you. The herbs are nasty and taste like dirt! But it works and I prefer it over drugs medical doctors try and push upon you.
I won't recommend this TCM service here. It didn't really cure the symptoms
I was in need of a herbal supplement my acupuncturist recommended and when I arrived I was treated so nicely and the gal helped me find the supplements. I will certainly be back thank you!
