Palicar - BMW repair shop and mobile service is an auto repair shop in Tampa, Florida, focused on helping BMW owners understand and address their vehicle’s repair needs. Located at 5055 S Dale Mabry Hwy #1331, Palicar serves drivers looking for BMW-specific attention, including customers who may prefer a mobile visit. Reviews frequently mention Jan, the mechanic and owner, for his knowledge, clear explanations, and professional, honest approach. For owners who want to discuss a concern directly with a mechanic before deciding what to do, that personal communication is an important part of the experience described by customers.
The repair examples shared by customers include coolant leaks, air-conditioning problems, and other BMW service needs. One BMW X3 owner contacted Jan about a coolant leak and says his suggested likely causes—the oil filter housing and thermostat—matched the problem found. That customer also appreciated that original BMW parts were used and described the repair as less expensive than expected in comparison. Other reviews describe work on the A/C system of a 2011 BMW X3 and an electric A/C compressor for a 7 Series. These examples offer a useful sense of the BMW repairs customers have brought to Palicar, without implying that every vehicle requires the same work.
Palicar’s mobile service is a notable option for customers who would rather have their BMW examined at home. A reviewer says Jan brought his mobile shop to their home, inspected the car, and clearly explained the recommended A/C repairs. The emphasis in these accounts is not just on completing a repair, but on helping the owner understand what the mechanic found and what needs attention. That can be especially helpful when a diagnosis or estimate raises questions, or when a driver wants a straightforward conversation before authorizing work.
Customers describe Jan as knowledgeable, professional, and honest, and several say they trust him with their BMW. Palicar may suit BMW owners seeking a mechanic who explains findings, provides BMW-focused repair service, and can offer a mobile visit according to the customer reviews. The business has a listed 5-star rating based on 118 reviews. Experiences can vary by vehicle and repair, so drivers should discuss their specific symptoms and service needs directly with Palicar before arranging work.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can’t say enough great things about Jan, the owner of Palicar. He is extremely knowledgeable, honest, professional, and someone I genuinely trust with my BMW. It’s not always easy to find a mechanic you can completely trust, especially with a BMW, but Jan has absolutely earned my confidence. He takes the time to explain what’s going on, does excellent work, and truly cares about his customers. I highly recommend Jan and Palicar to anyone looking for honest, reliable, and knowledgeable BMW service. Five stars all the way!
Jan is the best bmw mechanic ! I called about a quote for my bmw x3 coolant leak and he told me over the phone where it's most likely leaking from and it turned out he was spot on ! Oil filter housing and thermostat. He used original bmw parts and I couldn't believe how much cheaper it was compared to the dealership. He dropped off a bmw 7 series at my house as a free loaner car while he worked on my car. Later on he sent me a few pictures and videos about the progress. It was such an amazing experience. He is a very nice person, transparent and knowledgeable about bmws. Will recommend to anyone !
About a year ago, I brought my car to another mechanic to get it diagnosed; can’t remember the name but I needed several repairs that would have cost me serious dinero $$$. So I held off because I wasn’t paying that much and I didn’t trust my gut because I knew something wasn’t right. Anyways, fast forward to a few days ago when my car was leaking oil so I had no choice but to begin my search for another mechanic and so happy that I tried out Jan at Palicar. I have lived in many states throughout my lifespan thus far and I can tell you that Jan is by far the most qualified, knowledgeable, and honest mechanic I have ever encountered. I had a laundry list of items I needed to get done for my 2013 BMW 535i. All of this labor is about 13 hours. - valve cover - camshaft adjuster gasket - breather hose - spark plug (6) - oil pan gasket - oil lever sensor gasket - engine mount (2) - aluminum bolt set oil pan - oil filter adapter gasket - oil cooler gasket - oil pressure sensor - oil filter - starter mount nut Before and after photos. He went way above and beyond to ensure me as the customer was happy. He even offered his personal BMW as my loaner until mine was finished. If I had another star to give I’d give it! I will definitely be returning and he is my permanent mechanic from now on!
Five stars! Jan is an extremely knowledgeable, professional, and honest mechanic. In addition, his customer service is excellent. He most recently completed repairs on my 2011 BMW X3 AC system. After bringing his mobile shop to my home and examining my car, Jan clearly explained what needed to be done. Over the next couple of days, he gave me a written estimate, brought me a loaner car and had the work completed exactly when he said it would be - one day later and at a cost that was less than the dealer. I couldn’t be happier and highly recommend Jan for all your BMW needs!
