Yesterday we visited Pan Asian Thai – Sri Lankan Cuisine, the only Sri Lankan restaurant in Las Vegas, and it was such a nice experience trying something new. It was actually our first time having Sri Lankan food, so we decided to order a mix of everything including Thai, Malaysian, and Sri Lankan dishes. We tried the Tom Kha soup for $14.99, which was really flavorful and easily enough for about four people to share. For the main dishes, we ordered Nasi Goreng for $21.99, which came with a sunny side up egg, shrimp, and chicken. It is originally a Malaysian dish, but the chef added a nice Sri Lankan twist to it. We also had the Chicken String Hopper Kottu for $21.99, which was a pure Sri Lankan dish and honestly one of the highlights. The portion sizes were very generous. Each dish can easily be shared among three people, which makes it great for group dining. The place itself has a small but very cozy and welcoming vibe. The decoration is simple but nice, and what stood out the most was how friendly and welcoming the chef and staff were. Overall, it was a great experience, especially for trying a new cuisine. Definitely worth visiting if you want to explore different flavors in Vegas.
I brought my family here to dine and meet some distant relatives due to the unique Sri Lankan menu. The waiter and cooks were very friendly and helpful in recommendations for the dishes. We ordered 7 different dishes and all were excellent. One of the dishes we ordered was the Kottu Roti, which was very tasty and has marvelous presentation. It reminded me of a blend of a yellow curry chicken, but more distinct and unique that a traditional Thai curry. The drunken noodles here were absolutely fantastic! I tend to always choose Thai restaurants and order at least 1 dish of drunken noodles and Pad-see-iw for my family. Both dishes here at Pan Asian Thai hit a home run. The flavors were deep, the veggies were fresh, and the thick rice noodles had the perfect texture. Next time we visit Vegas, I hope this restaurant is still around, they are one of my top 3 favorites of all time now!
Without a doubt, the best authentic Sri Lankan cuisine that I ever had here in the US! PS: Home made special bread (roast pan) was crispy, buttery, and full of flavor. All the Sri Lankan curries that we tasted were on the spot! My personal favorite was young jackfruit curry (polos)! In addition, restaurant's interior was super clean and neat! Staff was super friendly and helpful!
Five stars all around. Eaten here twice now while in Vegas, and this place absolutely delivers. The food is a beautiful fusion of Sri Lankan and Thai, and the coconut base that runs through so many of the dishes is what really sets it apart from anything else in town. A few things that put this spot above the rest: everything is made fresh to order, the owner cooks with no seed oils, and it's Halal. The owner himself is incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. Worked through a good chunk of the menu across both visits. The green curry is a standout (had it once with beef and once with chicken, both exceptional). The beef pho was rich and deeply flavorful, the duck curry was outstanding, and the gyoza came with an incredible soy sauce and chili sauce combo I'm still thinking about. If you're in Vegas and looking for something genuinely different, do yourself a favor and stop in. You won't regret it.
Woke up today with a craving for a good Sri Lankan beef curry. Boy oh boy, I am so glad that my cousin Serena Bell recommended this gem. I placed a pick up order. The rice and curry (beef) along with the Nasi gorang. The fact that it was ready in 20min to pick up was very convenient and certainly satisfied my taste buds and hunger. The staff were very friendly as well. The food is authentic and I am a happy camper today. The rice and curry dish included several side dishes, just like i remember back in Sri Lanka. The Nasi gorang with the fried egg on top was also very tasty. I am so excited that I have access to a Sri Lankan restaurant herebin Vegas. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
