First time having Sunday brunch at Papa Haydn and we really enjoyed it! The food was great, but the service honestly made the experience even better. Everyone was genuinely friendly and attentive, and we felt really well taken care of without it feeling over the top. What I especially loved was how relaxed it felt for a Sunday brunch. It wasn’t crazy busy or loud, so we could actually sit, enjoy our food, and have a good conversation. We made a reservation, but it seemed like walk-ins would be totally doable too. After brunch, we asked if we could move outside for dessert, and they were super accommodating. Sitting on the patio on a warm Portland summer day with coffee and Papa Haydn dessert was pretty much the perfect ending. ☕️🍰 Good food, lovely service, and that cozy neighborhood Portland feel. Definitely coming back!

This restaurant offers a peaceful, elegant atmosphere, great service and good food. I love a good salad Niçoise and this was the best I've ever had (including my own). It was an unusual presentation with whole leaves of bibb lettuce piled in the middle, the vegetables strewn around, and seared tuna on top. The dressing was delicious. I don't like rare tuna, so the chef made sure it wasn't pink in middle. I docked the restaurant 1 star on food and service because of "papa's potatoes," which were so spicy my daughter-in-law couldn't eat them. It would've been nice to have been warned about that.

We decided to head up to NW 23rd for a quick Sunday night dinner and were happily surprised to realize it was the first day of Portland Dining Month. We started with martinis and Old Fashioneds, shared a few appetizers, and then dove into our main courses and everything was fantastic. And of course, you really can’t top the dessert creations at Papa Haydn. They’re absolutely top-notch and the perfect way to end the evening.
