Pathways Hospice of Alameda County was wonderful in caring for my cousin in the final weeks of his life. Their professionalism, kindness and compassion at a difficult time meant more than my words can express. Their calmness, openness and patience with all of my calls and questions kept me grounded and better able to manage expectations and communications with the rest of his family. Pathway’s care ensured comfort and dignity when it mattered most, and for that, our entire family is deeply grateful.

I had a great experience with Pathways Hospice. I was out of state when my friend needed hospice care. Heather was very informative, and shepherded the process. The nursing team listened to my friend’s and my concerns. The care was wonderful from the RN to the Home Health aide. They took care of everything until my friend passed, which was a great relief to me.

Mom recently entered into hospice care with Pathways and I cannot say enough good things about them. Her RN Honey, (real name, not being sexist) visits weekly, and recently came over on a moment's notice to handle a situation none of us could have managed on our own. Doreen, Mom's home health aid, is an angel - we are blessed with her presence twice a week. Doreen is also an excellent communicator - she calls us the day before to confirm what time she'll arrive the following day, and has been incredibly flexible as Mom's well-being fluctuates throughout any given day. I realize the coming days and weeks will become more difficult. It affords us some peace of mind knowing Pathways is in our corner. I highly recommend!

I strongly -- without any reservation -- recommend Pathways as a hospice provider. My family's experience with Pathways was excellent in every way. The staff was caring and attentive. Their visits to my mother were frequent, and we were grateful for the regular and comprehensive updates they provided. When my mother entered the final stages of her life, Pathways sent "vigil" volunteers to sit with my mother when family couldn't be there. They read to her, played music (even sang) and listened to her talk about her life. They made her life better. After my mother's death (February 2019) Pathways contacted us several times to offer individual counseling, support groups and other assistance as we grieve. Before we chose Pathways we had a truly horrible experience using a major organization's hospice "care." The comparison between the two made it clear exactly how good Pathways is. I recommend that everyone -- as we did with Pathways -- have an extensive conversation about expectations, specific services to be provided, medication, etc. Clarifying details gives you a metric for judging the level of care delivered. Pathways met and exceeded our expectations.
