Pearl Health Center is a medical clinic at 933 NW 25th Ave in Portland, Oregon, serving people looking for a local place to discuss their health and care. Patient experiences describe a clinic where some people feel recognized as individuals and supported over time, including patients managing chronic illness or navigating complicated parts of the medical system. Reviews also raise concerns about communication and prescription details, so experiences appear to vary. For prospective patients, it may be helpful to ask questions about appointment arrangements, care plans, and how prescriptions are handled when contacting the clinic.
Personal attention is a recurring theme in positive feedback. One long-term patient describes staff and a doctor who know them by name and show care for their individual well-being, while another reviewer with chronic illness says the clinic has been a positive experience over several years. These accounts may resonate with people who value a familiar relationship with their care team and want to feel heard when discussing ongoing health needs. They are individual experiences rather than a promise of a particular outcome, and patients can share their preferences and questions directly with the clinic.
Acupuncture is another service mentioned by a reviewer, who credits sessions with Dr. Darren with helping their back pain and stress after three visits. This is one person’s account, not a guarantee of results, but it gives prospective patients a concrete example of the care described in public feedback. Other reviews report difficult interactions with the front desk and an incorrect prescription dosage. Pearl Health Center has a 3.3-star rating across 140 reviews, reflecting a mix of positive and critical experiences. Patients may wish to confirm medication instructions with their clinician or pharmacist and raise any communication or accessibility needs when arranging care.
The clinic is located in Portland’s NW 25th Avenue area. Its posted hours are Monday and Friday, 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.; Tuesday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m.; and closed Saturday and Sunday. These hours can help when planning a visit, though patients should confirm current availability and appointment details with the clinic. Pearl Health Center may be worth considering for Portland residents seeking a medical clinic that has received positive reports for personal, ongoing care and acupuncture, while taking time to discuss their needs and expectations before beginning care.

Out of all the clinics that I have been to throughout my lifetime, this is the best. They are extremely personable, and know you, your name, and care about you on an individual level. My doctor truly cares about my well-being and when I have hit a roadblock in the medical system that I have previously had trouble overcoming, she works with me to deliver not only the best option, but the easiest. The other care that I have received, such as the mental health and acupuncture services, have been excellent. Not only are my acute problems treated in the moment, but there is a long term plan with tangible steps that I can follow and has shown great improvement in my health. Trust me, this is coming from someone who has received care in California. This is a dream compared to when I was there. There is little to no concern when it comes to next steps, payment, and overall health. I highly recommend Pearl Health Center. If you want to not only improve short term issues but build a relationship and rapport with a care center, this is the place to go.
Their current secretary “Kimber” , I don’t think is autism informed OR trauma minded. I had a bad time at this clinic multiple times in a row. Here’s my list - secretary interrupts before questions are finished being asked/ says no before hears the question and communicates in a way that is really condescending, have had this happen over multiple phone calls. Only corrects behavior if you get stern on the phone to request some respect then she back tracks with “oh sorry honey of course of course” would be helpful to have her be trauma informed and autism informed because personal advocacy is difficult for us neurodivergent people! - despite Scheduled ahead of time and got pushed back back over an hour - I told secretary not to reschedule me for a Dr appt and she did any way behind my back despite confirming I could call to set it up if wanted, causing me to miss an appt I didn’t know about, which back to being trauma informed, is not helpful for someone both financially or mentally - I call to check in on lab reports and it took MORE THAN 4 weeks to receive my blood test to the website, even though I called multiple times and desire talking to a human, I then get sent to another “voice mail” - sprained ankle very badly to the point of can’t walk, went to a walk in clinic and got disregarded by doctor. Doctor basically rolls her eyes at me. I asked for an x ray and have to beg for support or help. I needed MRI imaging but Dr submits for x ray because I didn’t realize they were different. Would have been nice if Dr asked more questions to help me understand exactly what kind of imaging I need; since I am not medically versed I didn’t know what to ask for - called multiple times trying to request follow up for MRI and ankle, get forward from kimber to voice mail and no one EVER calls me back. Then I am treated like I am annoying over the phone for continually calling - it has been 3 months and I still cannot walk properly and am still waiting for next steps. I don’t even want to call back or deal at this point, especially after fraudulent follow up schedule that I missed,. Situation completely activates all levels of anxiety both from disappointing my main doctor from missing an appt I DID NOT VERIFY SCHEDULING AND condescending secretary, as well as continually being dismissed by every one there.
I honestly cannot say enough about how positive my experience with Pearl Health Center over the last few years. They are easily my favorite health clinic I've ever been a patient with, which is saying a lot, as I'm a 45 year old neurodivergent woman, a cancer survivor and a person with chronic illness. When I initially established care, I left in tears because I was so overwhelmed by how kind and thorough everyone was. I don’t think I realized how conditioned I'd become to being dismissed, medically gaslit, rushed and treated like I was an inconvenience while receiving medical care. So when my doctor spent over an hour with me, really listening and collaboratively developing a treatment plan, I was shook in the best way. Everytime I walk in the door, Cimber, and Brittany's faces light up and it feels like I'm meeting up with friends. They always remember me and I'm consistently impressed at how they help me navigate things with warm humor and I genuinely look forward to seeing them. Today I met Aileen who I've not met yet and she was on par with everyone else I've met here. Lexi, my doctor's tech is so kind and professional, but still warm and detail oriented and makes sure I'm well cared for. I don't even know where to start with Doctor Schofield. This woman is so good at her job. She's holistic in her approach with vast knowledge of both natural pathic and western medicine which is incredible. She is so smart and kind and personable and is such a dedicated healer. Her bedside manner is excellent and she just goes above and beyond. And while the people at this clinic really shine, the way it is set up and the services they provide are also amazing. There's mental health workers who are wonderful and multiple options for bodywork and alternative care like chiropractic and acupuncture. I could go on and on and on but the main takeaway is that a clinic like this gives me hope in a country that leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to medical care. It is walking the talk when it comes to practicing integrated medicine. The holistic, relationship based care I've recieved there for years has me looking forward to each visit and getting care in areas that I've avoided for years thanks to how excessable and comfortable they've made me. On the most wild days, everyone seems to genuinely like thier job and their patients. I always leave feeling cared for. If more clinics were like the Pearl Health Center, this country would be healthier and happier.
I just started going here and have already gotten off to a horrible start with them. 1. They input the wrong prescription dosage. …
Absolutely delighted with the acupuncture sessions at Pearl Health Center and Dr. Darren. Caring, attentive and completely understanding (and more) of the patient's pain. After only three acupuncture sessions, my back pain and stress, which I had been struggling with for over 10 years, completely disappeared. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Dr. Darren's airy hands and golden heart 🙏
