Bowls are a recurring favorite in customer feedback. The crispy chicken bowl is praised for its crunch, while the Hawaiian bowl gets attention for especially tender pork. Diners who enjoy Korean-inspired flavors can look to the Korean bowl, with bulgogi described by one reviewer as particularly good. These dishes offer a few different directions within the menu, from crispy chicken to soft, savory pork and seasoned beef. Customers also mention that the bowls are well priced, making them appealing for an everyday meal as well as a casual lunch or dinner with friends.

There are also options for guests seeking a meal without meat. The vegan bento box has been described as a straightforward combination of rice, tofu, spinach, zucchini, and avocado. One longtime customer appreciated it as a quick, basic plant-based choice, while noting that its price had increased. That feedback gives a useful, balanced picture: the bento’s appeal is its simple mix of familiar ingredients, and prices can change over time. Other mentions include a vegan bowl and a crispy chicken bento, along with dinosaur toast and blood orange mimosas. Together, these review favorites suggest a menu with choices for different appetites and occasions, though individual availability may vary.

The experience is part of the draw. Reviewers mention friendly staff, great music, a cute interior, and an upper patio that adds an outdoor seating option. Some customers also appreciate the happy hour prices. Phat Cart is described as popular and often busy, so it may suit diners who enjoy an energetic restaurant more than a quiet setting. It could work for a casual meal, a meet-up over bowls and drinks, or a stop with someone who wants a vegan bento while others choose chicken, pork, or bulgogi. Customer comments reflect personal experiences, but consistently point to flavorful bowls and a relaxed, upbeat vibe. If you are exploring Asian fusion in downtown Portland, Phat Cart offers a convenient local choice with several much-mentioned dishes to try.

We loved the crispy chicken bowl and the Hawaiian bowl (the pork was so soft) and all the bowls were well priced. Really cute place with great music, decent happy hour prices and a great vibe. Also, the upper patio was super cute.

Vegan bento box. I like the basic options in this box. Small scoop of: Rice, tofu, spinach, zucchini, avocado. I've been coming here for years. Sucks they raised their prices on the vegan bento box when it was a basic quick and cheap fix for a long time. Super popular place, stays very busy.
